Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 8hI think The Vampire Lovers is decent too but it's been a long time. How are the Frankenstein films? I remember them being very good but again, it's been a long time! 100
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 9h#letterboxdfriday #filmsky #lastfourwatched Anora - disappointed. Really liked the first hour but then the tone changed and it wasn't for me ALTTW - wonderful. Edge of the seat drama and Linda Darnell just shines A13 - very well done, slick blockbuster H&B - standard 70s crime. Culp is good 0411
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Can never understand why people seem to rate The Howling. I think you got it spot on. 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 09/10/2026I agree that the first half is stronger than the second but it just works really well for me. Disappointing that Lauren Hutton wasn't in more things after The Gambler and this one 010
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Hangover Square is on the watchlist. Just trying to track it down! 000
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 09/10/2026No messing about. Straight in with the heavyweights! 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Any week with either Gong Li or Raquel Welch is a good one. One with both is fabulous. And one with Krull on top is wonderful! 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 09/10/2026What a run! A great couple of weeks although I am a bigger fan of American Gigolo than you were, I'm glad you still enjoyed it 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 09/10/2026It really is. I prepared myself for a bit of a slog and it absolutely wasn't that. Phenomenal 010
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Was just reading about The Dion Brothers a couple of days ago. Never heard of it before but it's on the watchlist now 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 02/10/2026*I know that They All Laughed is technically an 80s film but not aesthetically! 001
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 02/10/2026#lastfourwatched #filmsky #letterboxdfriday Man, I love the 70s TG - first class, tense drama, Caan falls into self-parody sometimes but it works here TAL - great ensemble TNR - proper crime classic TLS - not in the same class as the other three but very good 1590
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Never heard of this. Great title and great poster! 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Started and ended with two of my all-time favourites. And in the middle there one of my biggest blind spots - somehow still haven't seen Belle De Jour despite having the dvd for 10 years! 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Haven't seen Ghost World for a long, long time but something tells me that you are absolutely right about it! 010
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 29/09/20265 favourite British films...as of right now: The Red Shoes (P&P) The Life and Death Of Colonel Blimp (P&P) Get Carter (Hodges) The Long Good Friday (MacKenzie) Kind Hearts And Coronets (Hamer) #filmsky 021
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 29/09/2026What a tricky question! I definitely have a big blind spot around the kitchen sink dramas of the 60s which would probably feature on a lot of people's lists. 011
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Honestly, everyone has to see Comrades: Almost A Love Story. Fantastic film and Maggie Cheung's best performance in my opinion 020
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 25/09/2026#letterboxdfriday #filmsky #lastfourwatched Lemontree - v good. Impossible to make now C:AALS - heartbreaking masterpiece. Hard to imagine Maggie working in McDs though. Luminous! JDF - finally watched 20 years after buying it. Worth the wait. Some proper bad 'uns! TOOA - very funny greek classic 1530
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Yes, in my personal continuity Streets Of Fire is definitely a sequel. 😊 011
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I was so excited to see that when it came out. I know what you mean. It's not good but because we love the original you have to have a little bit of love for it 010
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Delighted to see L'Appartement there. I never see anyone mention it and it's one of my absolute favourites 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Haven't heard anyone talk about this film for years but I thought it was excellent at the time. Will be interesting to hear how it has aged 010
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 19/09/2026If there were ever three horrible men who had it coming then it was those three but by that point I was still feeling so uncomfortable I couldn't enjoy it 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Sorry to hear that because I like it so much but that's what great about films and why I enjoy seeing here what everyone is watching 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Oof, we are going to have to agree to disagree on Eyes Wide Shut! 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Haven't seen The War Of The Worlds for 40 years but I loved it when I was little 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 18/09/2026#letterboxdfriday #filmsky #lastfourwatched Horror week! Three pretty nasty films, especially Freeze Me. Didn't really enjoy that. TFTC - fun but these portmanteau horrors are never as good as they should be. Inside - great if you love gore TNYR - I love Fulci. Not one of his best but still good 1610
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Introduce yourself with five artists you've seen at least twice: Beastie Boys Super Furry Animals Goldfrapp The Black Crowes Public Enemy You'll never guess what generation I am.. 😜 050
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Lots of people watching Akira this week for some reason. I mean, you don't need a reason to watch it but it can't be a coincidence! 100
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 11/09/2026#letterboxdfriday #filmsky #lastfourwatched Italian week! Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Sorry you didn't like Deep Cover. I haven't seen it since the 90s but I know people love it 000
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Is that Akira poster the greatest of all time? It's definitely up there! 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 11/09/2026A couple of 70s crime classics there and a film with an interesting title and poster that I've never heard of. Merci beaucoup! 110
Martin C @martincrumley.bsky.social · 05/09/2026This Is England is just about the best TV you will ever find. Incredible mix of drama and comedy, with a cast that are all absolutely perfect for the roles 110
