The additional 5000 permanent hospital beds announced last year seem to be a manipulation of the figures It was announced in January 2023 that there would be 5000 more beds available for Winter 2023 That these beds would be permanent and additional The numbers below tell the reality #medsky

As we enter another ‘Winter crisis’ there are no seasons in NHS anymore It’s worth reflecting on the plans the last Govt had, 5000 more beds The target wasn’t hit despite NHSE stating publicly it was & July stating they were permanently added The numbers don’t stack up #NHS #medsky
