In parallel execution, skew in runtime can be a signal to bad performance due to uneven data distribution. Sometimes it's on purpose and not a data problem at all. Understanding the difference is worth, to avoid wrong tuning approaches. berxblog.blogspot.com/2026/05/sing...

recently I learned an old feature in Oracles parallel execution: When required, a plan switches to serial execution (done by the QC) and later on back to parallel DFOs. It's there since 12.1! berxblog.blogspot.com/2026/05/back...
