YOUR DEATH IS NOT YOUR OWN is an adult necromantasy combining an f/f take on NBC’s Hannibal with the death magic of SABRIEL. It's a heart-worming tale of belonging and the dangers of falling in love with an undead sociopath. #A #F #H #DVPit

Fostered to the gamblers and cheats of Vegas House as a young child, Jona has little experience with the dead who plot against the living or the necromancers who fight them. But when she learns that Madai, her long-estranged father figure and legendary necromancer, has violated their culture’s greatest taboo and returned from death, Jona knows she must discover what happened to him.
Jona makes Madai’s younger sister, Renee-Lois, her first ally and falls unexpectedly in love. Renee-Lois encourages Jona to accept the darker parts of herself: her forbidden magic and her strange empathy with the dead. What Jona doesn’t know is that Madai’s sister has been dead for a long time and her body is being animated by the Godqueen of the Kingdom of the Dead, working to turn Jona’s home into her personal meat locker.
By the time Jona discovers Renee-Lois’ true identity, the Godqueen holds all the cards. There’s no honest chance of winning. But Jona is a Vegas trickster at heart and at every other suit–and she’s never played honestly.

but then projects like WHAT ELEGANT STARS come along, and i think--hot damn. *this* is why speculative fiction exists. (kinda. it exists for lots of other reasons, including that it's fun going "what if xyz" happened. but, you know what i mean.) www.kickstarter.com/projects/dav...

Just started reading The Sapling Cage by Margaret Killjoy and what I can say so far is that if you loved the Tamora Pierce Tortall books and wish there was a genderswapped version by a trans woman about needing to be a girl to get trained as a witch, this could very much be the book for you

Asunder by Kerstin Hall has left me in tatters, full of feelings and memes
