A couple #wip pics for the next #martenwood #comic page. I posted these separately over on Cara but since I never got around to posting them here I'll bundle 'em. Mostly in the #inking phase right now.

#wip, #inking, more details, bouncing around multiple pictures atm. This one will probably be full color. Since they're in jackets, I'm thinking autumn colors, perhaps. I intend this piece to represent the updated designs for each of the main family members too.

Went to the Long Island Retro Gaming convention over the weekend! Got to see the CUPodcast, MLiG, and VGHF panels, which was lovely as I’ve been following all of them for so long now. Sadly, my retro gaming and drawing hobbies often conflict, time-wise, but more WIPs are incoming!

Really quickly done little animation for my previous picture, with a bit of added clouds. I wonder what she's thinking. Pair this with The Be Good Tanyas' cover of "Waiting Around to Die" for the proper mood... #animation #gif #oc #wondering #art #gif #pensive

Wish I could say drawing and being creative was a good escape from life stress, but if my mindset isn’t relaxed, I can’t get into the groove. Maybe I need to alter my subject-matter.

everyone's already going "what the fuck" at yassified grace but look at the background details too. atmospheric fog in a horror game cleaned up and sanitized, which also changes the color and tone this is a horror game. the gpu shouldn't be Removing the intended feel or you fuck it all up

resident evil 9 dlss5 off screenshot from recent nvidia showcase. protagonist grace is standing in a foggy street

same resident evil 9 screenshot with dlss5 turned on, which removes the fog and adds a lot of odd clarity to background details, shifts everything from an uneasy warm yellow to blue, and gives grace a genAI looking face

Shocked at how bad this is, I mean, what an idea to have: "Let's replace all the visuals with generic AI filtering." Are they getting all their ideas from tasteless individuals on Twitter? At least there seems to be some real backlash to this. Maybe society at large still has some taste.

Posted some full resolution versions of my pictures on my site, martenwood.com/artwork I think the full res versions are quite nice compared to the compressed versions that get posted here after Bluesky is done processing them. Check them out!

Every-time I play System Shock 2 I always grab that basketball in the beginning. Then I spend the entire game with it taking up a valuable inventory slot, and usually forget to use it for it’s purpose anyway…

This was a fun one to work on, until it wasn't! Then it became a bit of a slog, see if you can guess where I reached that point. Still, this was to practice backgrounds without black outlines, and a more varied set of expressions. #quadriptych #martenwood #painting #digital #ocs #portraits #comic

Four images featuring the same two sisters, each with varied expressions/emotions. Reassurance, excitement, fear, hunger.

"Catch of the day" Kind of a sequel picture to this: cara.app/post/342f71c... Really like the sky reflections here. Was inspired by some of the visuals in the SNES game Pilotwings... #fishing #digitalart #painting #procreate #art #drawing #camping #lake #sky #martenwood #eikeweir

Two sisters stand on an old, splintery, wooden dock. The reflection of the sky shines in the water around them. The two are dressed in summer clothing, and the younger one is holding a fish.

Still got this piece kicking around, commanding a few moments a day to add extra detailing or put in a very rough figure. These types of pictures are fun because they’re done in such an improvised manner, just branching one section off another. #wip #digital #sketch

WIP of the next comic page. It's been taking awhile! Not because it's that involved, but because I haven't been working on it... Trying to fix that now. Curious? Read the comic here: martenwood.thecomicseries.com #wip #procreate #comic #comicart #martenwood

A very rudimentary study of digital texturing, using a sketch I had inked from awhile back. Further practice is required, but I dig these initial steps. #oc #digital #texturing #practice #characterstudy #art #digitalart #painting #ocsky
