Appearing alongside Makino Maria at the Tokyo Seishun Film Festival was Idemitsu Kanako (Tsunku's wife). Maria: "If Kanako-san hadn’t been there, I probably wouldn’t have been able to finish my time in Morning Musume happily. She really helped me.” www.daily.co.jp/gossip/2026/...

As someone who spends a good portion of their time watching TONS of jpop/j-idol/anime songs MVs, even I can say this is easily the weirdest one I've seen in a good, long while. If you're in the mood for something totally off-the-wall, I definitely wouldn't skip this one if I were you! 🤣

On EDDDDGGGEE waiting to secure tix to OdaSaku's grad...c'mon man, just happen already lmao. Once I have them I'll be able to relax a bit. I mean, I'll be MORE excited, but in a good way rather than a nervous way. 🙃

I miss you, Maria Makino! I love you forever. 💗

Maria Makino, formerly of Morning Musume. In this photo she is standing with one of her hands on her hips, and she's wearing a dark turquoise lacy dress as seen in the music video for BEAT no Wakusei. Her hair is in a ponytail, and she's wearing a black choker and star-shaped earrings.

I stayed up til 4am last night (worth it!) watching subbed Momosu videos: the only DVD magazine I can find with English subs (MM'17), a radio show Miki hosted with Chisaki & Kaede, and a special on Momosu doing Anime Expo 2009 in L.A. for the 1st MM live in the USA.

A screenshot I took from one of my favourite Hello Project MVs of last year; the BEYOOOOONDS song Aa Kimi ni Tensei. Momohime looks so freakin' cool here. Stroooong mid-90s vibes.

Screenshot of pop singer & beatboxer Momohime Kiyono in the music video "Aa Kimi ni Tensei" by Japanese pop group BEYOOOOONDS. She's sporting a mid-90s alternative light-grunge-inspired 90s outfit (an unbuttoned plaid shirt with a white t-shirt underneath), and she's sitting next to an acoustic guitar, a bright orange smartphone in her hand.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! It feels like Tokyo to iu Katasumi x Otome no Gyakushuu x Kisoku Tadashiku rolled into one. Between this and Ai no Tenbin, it almost feels like Rosy Chronicle could become the "Gothic Lolita" unit of Hello Project. 💜🖤🌹 youtu.be/UG_Cw8_2gho

I am never *not* totally stoked when Pink Lady pops up on my feed. The OG QUEEN TEAM. And is it just me or is Mie kinda giving Riho Sayashi in the bottom pic? Just something about her expression here gives off a RihoRiho vibe to me. They don't look alike; it's all in the vibe.

A very old photo of 70s-80s Japanese pop duo Pink Lady, with Mie dressed in red on the left, and Kei dressed in dark blue on the right. Both girls still look quite young in this pic, so it's probably from the late 70s.

was just reading about Karin Miyamoto's recent live; apparently she sang SOUTHPAW as an encore? WHAT. After my wishing Maria would sing it at her grad but knowing it'd never happen, Karin does it? That's so weird. A good type of weird, but still. What were the odds of that? 😅

To this day, Riko & Yumeno's joint graduation from Tsubaki Factory is one of my absolute favourite graduation lives of *all* HP. It was perfect in so many ways. Yumeno was my oshi; I'm following her as a solo artist now & she kicks so much ass it's not even funny. 💛

Former Tsubaki Factory member Yumeno Kishimoto (on the right) embracing former Tsubaki Factory leader Riko Yamagishi (on the left). The 2 of them are dressed up on their graduation outfits; Riko is wearing a big white fluffy dress similar to a bride's wedding gown, while Yumeno is wearing a black suit with shoulder pads, a bit similar to a suit a groom might wear.

I was told that I looked unapproachable repeatedly thru my teens/20s. In all of those incidents I was literally just existing, no anger, but apparently I epitomized resting bitch face. Why are so many ppl so quick to misinterpret a neutral expression as annoyed or "bitchy"?

Juice=Juice's new MV for Bloody Bullet! Great song, SHIT video. Why do anything when you can just AI it, am I right? Hell, why even use humans at all, UF? Why don't you just make them AI too? Then you don't need to worry about them aging or being 'difficult' to work with!

I will warn anyone playing that you are much better off with a Romhack of Magical Kids Doropie (the Japanese version) because the localization team version cut out most of the cutscenes. Only a few remain in the US version, and the ending is entirely cut out.

There's something about Moa in this clip that reminds me of baby Rikako. I've never noticed any similarities between Rikako & Moa before (other than the fact they were both amazingly strong & skilled kenshuusei) but in this clip, there's just something about her that screams RIKAKO to me.

Have you ever heard of Dragon Spirit: The New Legend? It’s an awesome Namco game for the NES. I’m not too into shoot ‘em-up games, but this one feels so unique and fluid for the time. Great presentation, fun gameplay, and a lot of little touches that make it a hidden gem to me.
