I think I often go into characters with a plan ablazing, but by the time I've fleshed them out I've got someone entirely different on my hands. And they're very intense phases, with how much work I put into them... But it's very jarring when I lose the plot and try to get back

Willow is also weird... In different ways, depending on the contexts. I think In most settings she's trying hard to play life like it's a paint by the numbers bit, but it's not satisfying and worse- everyone seems to pick up that she's kind of phony.

pretending you're ok and totally cool with your absolute losing scenario is actually the worst loss of all. He's so lame. But it's important to him that he never be openly vulnerable. This led to his "stay calm and bear it" technique which exploded in his face when he couldn't keep up with it

guy is weird about admitting defeat and opening up. his values r that it's important to him to feel like he's "in control" or winning in encounters. It. Got weird when he is also generally a pacifist (barring drastic exceptions..) and then it became a matter of "he can never admit when he's losing"

Also think he's kind of the PERFECTLY DESIGNED 'evil' puppet like. He fulfills his purpose so well. First pass using tennis balls was so perfect they used the original puppet for the first movie. 10/10 no notes. This is why the red spiral cheeks has had such a lasting stay as a motif

I also think about being like.. 6 ish, and my dad asking if I wanted to watch a movie where Buffy the vampire slayer flies. It was the American grudge 2 where Sarah Michelle Gellar's character falls off the roof of a hospital 😭

my first scary movie was The Grudge (the original), which my dad showed to me at 4 years old. I feel like this had foundational ramifications to who I am as a person. And also my horror tolerance
