We hiked over to the next town from us this morning. Lacoste is a cute hilltop town with a lot of art. Pierre Cardin bought the castle and 40 properties and restored them. The claim to fame is that the castle was where the Marquis de Sade (yep, that one) lived and pursued his proclivities.

There is something I tend to find funny, and it comes from reading the Marquis De Sade. You will see lex talionis come up in LaVeyan philosophy, whereas in DeSade's novels lex talionis is derided as simply the stupidest of all laws, a feeble attempt to impose justice upon nature.
