Next year, I plan on seeking out Novavaxx even if it’s not as convenient to source. mRNA vaccines are cool in their own right, but if I might have access to 2-3 days of lesser side effects while boosting my immune system, I’ll go out of my way to give it a go. 🥴

Stopped BP readings at home because it was bad for my MH. Enter pleasant surprise today at the dentist: my BP is nearing normal. Not my old low BP normal, but not scary. Nearing the 1 year anniversary of the surgery is part of it... I'm equally convinced it's because I left that shit job. 🙌

I had applied for a state agency job with scary workforce data (2nd worst turnover in the state) and bloodcurdling reviews. The listed duties were 🤮. I stayed up all night to slave over my application for a better post that opened up. So ofc I'm starting to hear back from the unwanted post first.

Always amazed at my battered brain's ability to screw up making food from scratch. I accidentally refilled a baking powder jar with baking soda. I hate throwing away food, but I trashed my pancakes weeks ago. I was scared to bake after that. Finally did a water test. Fixed it. Omigahhhh... 😑

Whenever I think my body is being different and weird, I google whether it's a symptom of Graves' and the answer is YES ~99.9% of the time. Turns out Graves' plus the shock of a total thyroidectomy will pause hair growth for up to a year. I literally picked the worst year to grow out my pixie. 🫠

The state I moved to can drive me up the walls, but it's blue and its social safety net for someone like me is invaluable. I'm busy sludging through red tape for benefits/disability/medical/vaccine coverage while job searching. But I'm forever grateful for every scrap of help and support.

The spa (not hot tub) is up and running again, my email inbox is clear, I re-discovered the backrest tilt knob to my desk chair so my back is happier, my apartment is at optimal organization, the air is clean and smoke-free, the temps cooled off, and I found a good new book to savor. 🥲

I've been using a weather app on my phone since I first became a smartphone user. Today, I was horrified and nauseated by the ads PLAYING LIKE RADIO ADS. ON MY WEATHER APP. NOISY ADS. ON MY WEATHER APP. Loyalty was vaporized on the spot. I loved the app's layout, but that's a firm goodbye.

Finally, been put out of my misery. Not selected for hire. I’m sad to miss the remote opportunity, but I know my interview was subpar and I sensed some red flags. Besides, I need more time to heal from the atrocities of the last state job I held. Meanwhile, the job market remains terrifying. Ugh.

Update: The thief felt guilty and shipped 2 of the 3 pre-paid packages this week. They got dropped off at a USPS in a different state. USPS never collected them. This is a third party weirdo with a conscience. Cases were closed, sellers will be confused, and I doubt I'll get refunds ATP. Wtf? 🫨

Cooled off enough today that I could sleep in and make it to a local, reputable shoe repair shop for a couple of old winter boots. Also managed to visit the closest trail and mini park. Taking a break in the shade and marveling that I can walk like this again. (As long as it’s not unbearably hot.)

Got a cheap walking pad in 2023 b/c AQI was choking me out. Got sick, barely used it. The belt was never aligned well and I think the move hurt the motor: hot rubbery smells despite lubrication. Pool is drained due to chemical probs in high heat. Guess I gotta mask and use the gym. #ClimateChange

Ofc my AC goes on the fritz over the weekend as it hits 100°F. I was doing complex factory resets at 3 AM to jimmy it back on, but my phone app won't register and the air isn't strong. I prefer thermostats that detach from the wall and you can carry around the home. Wifi/app everything is stupid.

I enjoyed my first full day off in an ENTIRE YEAR this past Wednesday without carting myself to med appointments. I goofed off to my heart's content. I'm starting to recognize my old self in the mirror for the first time in years. I can't wait to see how I am a week or two after Quitting Day. 🥲

Finally ended trauma therapy. Wish the therapists I tried were upfront: you can't do the hard work of trauma therapy unless you're healthy and strong. So many sessions spent talking b/c I felt ill. So ofc it did nothing because trauma lives in the body, not the mind. So no trauma recovery for me.

I did it. 6 years of waiting to swim safely outdoors unmasked and with no other swimmers in sight… I figured out the pool is empty during lunch hours. My energy was good enough today. The swim was glorious. 🥹🏊‍♀️ p.s. The thyroid med adjustments I rabidly pushed for is obviously better for me.

I started using a moist heat eye compress for 10 minutes each night for only 5 days and I was able to wear my contacts for most of yesterday instead of 2 hours. 🥹 I think I could do very well after 4-6 weeks! I guess my TED gave me severe MGD, but I landed on a cost-effective, OTC treatment.
