I’ve been heavily considering going to nail tech school lately, but idk if it’s worth it 😩 I feel like I’d be good at it tho?

When I majored in 3D modeling, that’s kind of a large part of what we did. Modeling I was mostly real objects, modeling II was pulling some random illustrations off the internet and try our best to model it 1:1, then our capstone was taking different elements from everywhere to make an original.

I rearranged my studio to make space for my slab roller, but I’m starting to second guess everything because it’s still a big mess I need to find places to put things 😭 I hope one day I can have a studio bigger than a small bedroom

What are artists doing as an act of resistance? What can we do to help?

Got a bunch of mugs painted tonight 😮‍💨 this is legit the fastest I’ve ever worked to get a collection done. On Friday my friend asked if I wanted to participate in a market the following Friday (Valentine’s Day). I hope they don’t crack or explode in the kiln. Wish me luck! 🍀 #ceramics #pottery

I 3D printed a throwing guage, it’s quite nice! I ended up using the looser fit files. Here’s the link: www.printables.com/model/116041... #ceramics #pottery

My toxic trait is that every time I see something art related (like nails or cake decorating) I’m like “I’m an artist how hard could it be?” and proceed to be humbled 😂

I just 3D printed a template for this palette, I’m gonna try it out tomorrow! #ceramics

My mom reminded me I can renew my passport and live in Japan as a Japanese National, and with the way things are going maybe I should 😬 Getting a new Japanese passport is complicated though because you have to get a fresh copy of your family registry from your village/town within 90 days of applying

Cooking up something new, making a drape mold form on my 3D printer for a glasses tray. My glasses are always scratched up because I throw them on my nightstand 😭 once it’s done I’ll roll out a slab of clay and test it out!

Attempted to throw WAY bigger than I have in years and failed miserably 😆 definitely good to challenge yourself sometimes

Ceramics helped rekindled my relationship with my mom. For quite a few years I’ve had a very tumultuous relationship with my mom due to unhealed traumas. She also lives thousands of miles away and at some point it felt like talking to a stranger. But art has a way of rekindling bonds. 1/4

Okay this week it’s time to tackle making test tiles and glaze combos again. These are all the tiles I made to stay on my jars, but next I’d ideally like to have every combination displayed on a wall. Idk how many months it’ll take, but it should be worth it right? 🤞🏼

Multiple rows of colorful ceramic test tiles with 1, 2, and 3 layers from left to right. Each one has dots and v shapes drawn with underglaze to determine how much each glaze drips.
