Terrifying as one who intends to receive surgery on the NHS in the (hopefully) upcoming months. I have already had to explain to my wife that I intend to discharge myself should I find myself held in undignified conditions. Should that be my final day on this planet, so be it...

The amount of creators who I've stopped watching because they chose to flood my notifications with this kind of content in the current year is unsettling.

It would have been unthinkable when the UKHL moved over to the SC that a little over a decade and a half later, one of their reception guests (myself) invited to dine in celebration, would feel unwelcome due to an exhibit celebrating the persecution of those who share her 'protected' characteristic.

We had a lovely time at the Birmingham Rep with some Queer theatre 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Send in the Clowns: Queeny Todd was an absolute delight and as a Sweeney Todd fan was a wonderful subversion of Sondheim. Had I known (ahead of time) that photography was allowed, I'd have brought a more appropriate camera.
Image showing the stars of Send in the Clowns: Queeny Todd (Fatt Butcher, Dahliah Rivers, Blü Romantic, and Alanna Boden) dressed as white in colour, red in colour, blue in colour and yellow in colour clowns respectively. Dahliah Rivers is seen standing on a grey in colour trunk and Blü Romantic is seen sitting on the floor. They are standing around a crude painting of an appendage sitting on an artists' easel. An audience member is seen from behind in the foreground of the picture.Image showing Fatt Butcher dressed in a large black in colour feathered headpiece and traditional 'showgirl' attire leaning over an audience member wearing a white in colour shirt. During the (seemingly unrehearsed) set piece, Fatt sang Happy Birthday to the audience member using interludes of a horn instrument. The lighting of the room gives the scene a blue in colour tint. Two audience members are seen from behind in the foreground of the picture.Image showing Fatt Butcher in silhouette set against an array of pink in colour and purple in colour spotlights. Fatt appears to be wearing a top hat and speaking in to a microphone. The background of the photo shows a brightly lit red in colour stage curtain featuring a logo of red in colour lips against a black in colour oval. An audience member is seen from behind in silhouette in the background of the picture.Image showing the stars of Send in the Clowns: Queeny Todd (Fatt Butcher dressed at Mrs. Lovett, Dahliah Rivers dressed as the Beggar Woman, Blü Romantic dressed as Sweeney Todd, and Alanna Boden dressed as Tobias) on stage with an audience member (who was identified only as an anonymous heterosexual man) dressed as Judge Turpin holding a pink in colour haired doll representing Johanna. Fatt appears to be gesturing to an audience member in the foreground.

Besides my wife? I would have to double check, but from a cursory count, I'd say it's approximately... zero. The most disappointed I've been was when I tried to discuss this with a cis/bi friend whose entire reaction was a shrug of the shoulders and a feigned sentiment that it didn't affect them...

Whilst it was good fun, we were a little confused that the dinosaurs/creatures from different time periods/eras were all together in the same place at the same time. It was cool to see an ornithocheirus featured so prominently though; they're absolutely fascinating (if not a little terrifying).

If I weren't living through Labour's segregationist policies firsthand, I would have assumed that this was American satire. "We are in an illegal war, the cost of living is too high, here's what I've done about it; I've voted to harm trans children."

Please learn the lesson of the UK. The lesser of two evils won the last general election and are by far the most anti-trans government to ever be in power here. This has opened the door for even more extreme policies being seemingly inevitable when this government inevitably leaves power.

I tend to match as close as possible; all of the damage counter dice match and if possible the D6 or coin. The status counters vary based on what I have; though are (mostly) currently the SVI orange and purple. Although not a current mechanic; I still have an endless supply of VSTAR markers ⭐
Image showing a (transparent) blue in colour organza bag with rainbow webbing set against a white in colour background. The bag has been closed via a drawstring at the head of the bag and contains a coin that is gold in colour with a metallic rainbow sheen. The coin features the Pokémon Pikachu. Also partially seen inside the bag are blue and pink in colour D6s that show damage (i.e. 10; 20; 30 etc.) used to manage the game state in the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

Fortunately, I didn't have to. I purchased a few job lots of dice & counters from different sets as I like to make bags of them to hand out to new players at different events. Every so often, I will get bored of my own dice box so will assemble a new one for myself. bsky.app/profile/marl...

I decided to alter the dice box from the (simplified Chinese) Jolteon Gift Box to make it Sylveon themed 🎀 I used D6s from the (English) trainer toolkit; coin(s) from the (Japanese) Pokémon Center Gacha collection and added pink felt; dividers as well as a shiny new latch 😄 #PokemonTCG #Sylveon
Image showing a white in colour rectangular dice box with a pink in colour felt liner. The box is open, showing its contents and is set against a white in colour background. The box has printed Eeveelution Pokémon in their respective colours along the side walls (i.e Flareon is orange in colour; Jolteon is yellow in colour etc.). The box has a small, silver in colour metal latch in the open position on both the top and bottom halves of the box. The box is divided in to two sections. A larger lower tray and a smaller upper tray held above the lower tray via two metal brackets placed either side. The lower tray (divided in to two sections) is holding twelve transparent pink (with pips, white) in colour Poké Ball dice on the left hand side as well as a metal yellow in colour and black in colour GX Tag Team marker on the right hand side. The upper tray (divided in to two sections) is holding two white in colour (metal) poison and burn counters on the left hand side (allied to an indistinct silver coin) as well as six pink and black in colour Sylveon themed (plastic) coins on the right hand side.

Two months ago, I, as a (soon to be former) Lloyds customer asked Lloyds bank if an article that suggested that they had banned "trans women from using female lavatories" was accurate. (The article - archive.is/EIouM) Today (11 August 26) they responded to me suggesting the article was accurate.
11 August 2026

We've looked into your complaint

Dear Mrs [Redacted]

I'm sorry you've needed to raise a complaint with us about the news article on the new toilet policy that Lloyds banking group have. Thanks for letting us know, so we could look at this for you and explain what's happened.

What happened
You contacted us after reading a newspaper article published on 29 May 2026. The article reported that Lloyds Banking Group had changed an internal policy relating to the use of women’s toilets by trans women.

You explained that you and your wife had previously moved part of your banking to us because of your views on inclusion and support for trans people. You told us that, if the article was accurate, you would consider moving your banking elsewhere as your beliefs do not allow you to support policies that you consider to be anti-LGBT or segregationist. You asked us to confirm whether the information reported in the article was accurate.

The outcome
After reviewing your concerns, we didn’t find that we’d made an error in the way we handled this matter. For this reason, we haven’t made any payments in relation to your complaint.

Why it happened
We reviewed your complaint and sought guidance on the concerns you raised. During this review, it was confirmed that the position being followed is based on the Supreme Court’s ruling and that this is a business decision that must be applied. The matter was also discussed with a specialist team, who confirmed that this decision could not be changed.

We recognise that this is a complex and sensitive issue. We understand the concerns you’ve raised and appreciate the strength of your views. Lloyds Banking Group’s position is that we aim to approach matters of this nature with care and empathy while respecting the Supreme Court’s judgement. How I reviewed your complaint
I've used the information we have on our systems in my investigation. I also considered the points you raised. As we haven't made any errors, I can't agree with your complaint, but I hope I've explained why we have not upheld your complaint and you understand what's happened.

You can go to the Financial Ombudsman Service
If you don’t agree with this decision, you have the right to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service, free of charge – but you must do so within six months of the date of this letter. Full details of how to do this are in the “Things you need to know” section at the end of this letter.

If you have any questions please get in touch You can call us on the number at the top of this letter. We're open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 3pm Saturday, and someone else can help if I’m not available.

Yours sincerely

With respect, I'd make two key distinctions. Amnesty International UK and Amnesty International appear as separate entities and appear funded separately. It's not a single court case when multiple organisations labelled as 'anti-rights groups' by Amnesty have sent similar pre-action letters.

It's a lose-lose situation. Amnesty either - Comply and lose all good will in regards to their status as a prominent human rights organisation. -or- Head to court and (presumably) run out of funds through near endless appeals whilst the UK press runs rampant over their reputation.

Whilst I agree with the overall objective of doing such a campaign, the framing of 'trans' as an oblique collective; allied to the cultural association of the trans community with sharks seem a rather clumsy, if not potentially harmful message.

I have been a monthly donor to @amnestyuk.bsky.social since I was in university; over a decade and a half ago. If, (as it seems) when the review is concluded, that Amnesty has abandoned the pursuit of equity for trans people in all but lip-service, I too shall be cancelling my donation.

As we are continually made aware, there is a section of the public who take the headline at face value, acting themselves as willing (volunteer) enforcers. There is equally a section of the establishment that rely on this vaguery; as always, the cruelty is the point.

I've filled out many PIP applications for others so you have my sympathies. Part of the problem is that the assessors are not medically trained and look for keywords to fit within their limited; rigid framework. What I will say is, appeals seem to be successful more often with an advocate.

I understand the sentiment, but we are not people who have to be all or nothing advocates. I've reoriented my focus in the past year picking up the slack; helping other trans people in my local area where our elected representative(s) have failed them. Not everything has to be always on(line).

The part that hit home for me was the case of the girl in jeans and trainers, who was told that she was "not serious". I am certain as to the clinician who said that, given the same happened to me when I turned up to an appointment in jeans (with lovely floral embroidery), only to be told the same.

I do a similar think when making this style of curry. I (fairly often) will dehydrate apple slices to eat as snacks. By blitzing some of the dehydrated apples in to a fine powder; and adding it to the sauce, you get a concentrated burst of sweetness without necessaily watering the curry down.
