One advantage to flatting on transparent layers is being able to fix gaps. Set a keyboard shortcut to apply the Correct Line Width filter. Instead of trying to hit one-pixel areas with the fill tool, just isolate the gap area and use the Correct Line Width filter. #Flatting #ClipStudioPaint

Finally found the Combined Action setting with the Ulanzi Dial that lets you hold a button and use the Dial for more actions/shortcuts. So now I can move up or down layers in Clip Studio Paint, change brush sizes, and switch between images in PureRef.

Apple's built-in camera app is crap at taking photos of spiders in the webs because it always focuses on the background, but the ProCam camera app lets you manually focus in where you want.

An Orb spider. It's legs are brown with transparent sections that are almost like stripes. It's thorax is nearly black with white spots down the middle, and stripes down the sides. It's missing one leg as it sits in the center of the barely visible web against a blurry background.

Folder organization tip: Spaces in front of names put them at the top of an alphabetical list. Adding the Omega symbol (Ω) to the beginning of a file name puts it at the bottom of an alphabetical list.

If you use PureRef with Clip Studio Paint, you can set the Always On Top (Global) keyboard shortcut to the Tab key. This way PureRef hides when you hide your palettes and tools in Clip Studio Paint.

Learned a new Photoshop shortcut / trick today. If you get this menu, and don't want to Merge layers when changing color modes, press Command + D (⌘ + D). It will press the Don't Merge button. Handy when you have a shit-ton of layered files.

It has three buttons - Merger, Don't Merge, and Cancel. Merge is selected by default.

Love the new Macro Editor in DaVinci Resolve 21. It lets you see a preview of the customizable Title.

On the right is all the customizable stuff that will appear in the inspector in DaVinci Resolve when you add this title to the timeline. It includes modifying two kinds text, their size, font, tracking and color. Dear Cuisinart: I want the recipe that makes the popcorn shown on the box, not whatever this recipe is that's inside the booklet. This is like promising someone one of those very cool 1940's Farm Trucks, and then giving them a Cybertruck.

Part of the box a silicon dish for making popcorn in the microwave. It shows a caramelized popcorn with pecans and a drizzle of white glaze icing. Green text reads, "Try this recipe inside! Cinnamon Sugar Popcorn"

The Cinnamon Sugar Popcorn 'recipe' that is never going to resemble the picture on the box.

It reads,
Makes about 10 cups (2.36 L)
1/3 cup popcorn kernels
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) ground cinnamon (add an extra pinch if you are a big cinnamon lover!)
Pinch kosher salt

1. Put the kernels into the popping bowl; cover with lid. Microwave for 4 minutes on High (Note: Some microwaves have different wattages, so this may take more or less time depending on the microwave being used).
2. While the corn is popping, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium-low heat. Remove from heat; reserve. Stir the sugar, cinnamon and salt together; reserve.
3. Once the popcorn is ready, remove lia, arizzle butter over the popped corn and then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar. Cover and toss to combine, or stir together with a heatproof spatula until fully coated. Serve immediately.

New tool for Comic Book Work - the ULANZI D100H Video Editing Keyboard with Dial Knob. I've gone back to using PureRef, and set the Ulanzi Dial with it so that I can quickly scroll through all reference images. It's mean for video editing, but it works well here too.

The Vivo is behind the smaller monitor on the right. It can be rotated. My only problem with this is the pads in the clamps will shift a bit over time. I super-glued them in place and they haven't moved since.
