Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Whilst I agree in broad principle, that doesn’t address this particular issue. Ed Miliband, for example, is culturally Jewish but non-religious. 000
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 04/10/2026From the state of some of the arguments on this thread, it’s clearly not all they wanted to say. Some clearly question the legitimacy of the state of Israel no matter who is currently in government, and don’t really even want a two state solution - just the complete dissolution of Israel. 010
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Unbelievably ignorant and politically naive. This is knowingly amping up antisemitism whilst clutching pearls at the very suggestion. FFS. This is the dissembling bullshit that sank Corbyn (rightly), and it’ll do exactly the same for the Greens. 000
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Just when Zack Polanski was doing a decent job of making the Greens look like a cohesive and progressive political party (although they really weren’t), and at least helping to steer the political conversation in the right direction, this kicks them back further than they’ve ever been. 010
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 04/10/2026No, that wording lumps everyone who thinks it’s legitimate for a Jewish state to exist in with the current genocidal leaders. The exact opposite of what you said. It’s massively reductive and actively fuels bigotry. So fuck the Green Party for letting themselves get into this sorry state. 130
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 04/10/2026“constantly qualify it with several adjectives so that it's unambiguous?” If the alternative is to come across as straight up anti-semitic, then YES FFS! You make it sound like it’s hard - it really doesn’t have to be. 100
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Politically naive to think this wording isn’t going to blow up in their faces. And why does it have to boil down to a word? You think it’s somehow not possible to define an opposition to the actions of the Israeli government without falling into that absolute beartrap? 🤦🏻♂️ 200
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Or maybe just not use that term at all? As Ian suggested, it’s not difficult to be clear on this without sliding into lurid anti-Semitic tropes - but they deliberately chose not to do that. 🤷🏻♂️ They were gaining ground - now they’re absolutely cooked. 110
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Yep, Iif you have an account, I think you’re automatically in their loyalty scheme. Worth getting those extra points for following on social media etc I generate a lot of points from writing reviews with photos - but sadly I think all the invitations to review I received from Yotpo are now useless. 000
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Because of all the big, dumb stuff he’s done, I think he’s criminally underrated. He was great in ‘Roofman’, and a revelation in ‘Blink Twice’ 010
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Trouble is, unless you convert them to $, there have been no new things to spend them on in ages. I think a lot of people are like me & don’t want to spend them directly in case any new exclusive slips are released. Thing is, there haven’t been any for a long time - just old ones we’ve already got. 100
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I think they were getting concerned about the number of loyalty points sitting unused on peoples accounts. Because they never expire, they’ll sit as a growing liability on their accounts, and they’ve been trying to incentivise people to spend them. 100
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 02/10/2026They’ve (possibly temporarily) decoupled from the Melusine loyalty system though, so possible my conversion was from 12876 points to 5762, which sounds more likely. Unless they eventually reconcile them, then I may have effectively gotten my Melusine purchase for free! Need to keep an eye on that. 100
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Conversion of points to $ has also improved. My balance hasn’t changed on Melusine where 3000 points got me $30 off. On VS $30 off now only costs 1200 points. I’ve got 9876 points on Melusine which translates as 5762 on VS, so I think that has noticeably increased the value of points. 100
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I’ve noticed that their ‘exclusive’ VSMC products are now ‘cheaper’ (i.e. require fewer points) - but they haven’t had anything I’ve wanted that I haven’t already got in about a year. They need to create some new VSMC slipcovers. 100
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Yeah - I didn’t get that email - so my enquiry resulted in them sending me that information. The upshot seems to be that they’ve changed loyalty provider and rebased their system - and therefore we’ve got fewer points, but each point should be worth more, so we’ve not lost any actual value. 100
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I’ve not seen an email on the subject, but I’ve messaged them for clarification. I lost a load of points on a previous occasion when YOTPO who administrate their loyalty system incorrectly cropped off the older points transactions on their system. They eventually fixed it. 100
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Something’s a bit screwy. There’s been a ‘transfer’ of points and somewhere in the process I appear to have lost over 4000 points. I’m showing 5761 points on the VS site, but my original total of 9876 is showing on the Melusine site. 100
Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Yep, because music definitely needed ‘solving’. Seriously, who are these utter bellends? 0210

Mark Slater @markslater.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Indeed. He claimed sabotage when trying to grift more money from his supporters, but it apparently got into trouble on its first trip out. Not sure why it’s popping up in the news again now particularly, but still good to hear. Probably because his infamy has increased in recent weeks. 010
