Mamdani already solved this easily. When asked about Piker's past comments he forcefully and directly stated they were "reprehensible". That took the sting out of it. The more people minimize, deflect, whatabout and whitewash the more "the media" will keep asking. Just use the Mamdani model.

Whataboutism alone isn't effective. Viewers are smart enough to sense the dodge and their takeaway will be "inauthenticity". Hasan openly supports terror groups. Every Democrat should denounce that shit first and then do the whataboutism you prescribe.

I understand the desire for politicians to do whataboutism pivots to "Trump bad" when challenged on topics like aligning with a "streamer" who cheers on Islamic terrorism and prays for the destruction of the US. Independent voters can sense the dodge so the better move is denounce it forcefully.

Maybe in your mind. certainly not legally and certainly none of the charges, even if a conviction and sentencing was ultimately achieved and upheld in appeals, would have disqualified trump from running for office.
