Then I suggest you try my recipe. And the ham should only be a thin slice or two. It's mostly the tomato+cottage cheese where the magic happens.

What's the white stuff? My favourite sandwich has tomato, cottage cheese and slice of ham. And a smidge of margarine obviously. If you have good cottage cheese this is the food of gods.

Communicator was a great phone for instance you could do a lot more than that but it was pricey. These days we can pay 1000 euros for a phone but back then very few could or did.

There was a big jump in hardware capabilities at the time. There was a phone with touch screen offered to Nokia (Origo) years before iPhone but it was clunky. Touchscreens were not a very good interface yet.

It was both an obstacle and their strength. That strategy after all made them easily the biggest manufacturer on the planet for a decade. Not a small feat. And it was specifically because they had a phone for everyone. But business changed and they were obviously far too slow to react.

I think it was more complex than that. They did after all basically start Finnish mobile game business but what they did fail to realise ahead of time how important a consolidated ecosystem would become to users. In the early 2000s nobody had that, though.

My camo kit was so faded I wasn't sure how well it'd worked. A bit more and it would have been more useful in the winter.

Aika iso osa kansasta on jo tuossa tilanteessa.

Katon kautta?

Marko Poutiainen @markopoutiainen.eurosky.social · 16/09/2026

Minkään vesikiertoisen (maalämpö, kaukolämpö, ilma-vesi) esittäminen on täysin epärealistista ellei samalla remontoida koko talon sisusta uusiksi. Kyllä, olen miettinyt asiaa.

Marko Poutiainen @markopoutiainen.eurosky.social · 16/09/2026
100 1
Marko Poutiainen @markopoutiainen.eurosky.social · 16/09/2026
Toki remppaa on tehty. Yleisesti kuitenkin noissa taloissa on vaikea vaihtaa lämmitysmuotoa.

Marko Poutiainen @markopoutiainen.eurosky.social · 16/09/2026
Ahaa, tiedät siis paljonko me maksettiin?
200 2
Marko Poutiainen @markopoutiainen.eurosky.social · 16/09/2026
Mikähän se investointi olisi? Me ostettiin talo -95 rakennettu talo vuonna 2009 ja siinä on suora sähkölämmitys. Pitäisikö asentaa vesikiertoiset patterit koko taloon pinta-asennuksena? En oikein mitään muuta keinoa keksi vaihtaa lämmitysmuotoa vaikkapa maalämpöön tai ilma-vesipumppuun.

We have been shit for most parts for over 30 years with very little to cheer about and particularly shite for ten years so I understand well if people are disillusioned. False dawn after false dawn and unfortunately it starts to look like TFG is another one.

I have personal experience with not realising this. I was in the board of a co-op (we built a fiber optics network) and we went for several years without amortization. When we realised that we had to increase subscription fee just to not make a loss every year.

Stadium deprecation is something I hadn't thought about at all. Even at a 50 year deprecation it would still be a big chunk in the loss section.

Yeah, that model requires trust between people. Maybe our future AI overlords can handle all this and we can look forward to a communist utopia?
010 1
Marko Poutiainen @markopoutiainen.eurosky.social · 07/09/2026
Not in large scale but it has worked in many smaller communities, and in fact has been the model for vast majority humans have existed. Hunter-gatherers (which cavemen also were) lived in societies like that. Private property and money became necessary after agriculture was invented.

Infra costs serious money if you want to run at scale.

Marko Poutiainen @markopoutiainen.eurosky.social · 07/09/2026
Mistake is assuming it's just the code. Pretty much anything you feel is dominated by the tech giants is because of infrastructure, not code.

Then there have been some smaller ones, like the co-operatives during the Spanish Civil War.

I happen to think there haven't been any real communist regimes. Just calling yourself communist doesn't make it so. No private property, no money, no state, no classes. Cambodia maybe tried this? That's probably closest.

Helsinki, where the first stoplight was installed had electricity since the 1880s, first electricity company started in 1884. So it was not electricity but scarcity of cars. Finland was poor and had limited foreign currency reserves so car imports were regulated into the 50s.

How did you estimate revenue? Based on the stuff we heard during the building phase I guessed it would be more like 240-250m. Nice if it's that much higher.

AMN could be decent but apparently he had so many lapses of concentration in France fans got tired of him. Before he was actually decent. We have emergency RBs unless AMN is out for an extended period but I guess it would be JB at LB if Myko got injured.

Yeah, RB just about is poorly covered with CMs and JOB but not sure who could fill in for Mykolenko.

FB situation is not good but otherwise we are currently in decent situation assuming Balogun deal happens. Barry and Balogun up top with Johnson as emergency. Grealish coming back, then we have four wingers. Four CBs. 7 CMs. Yes, we should get some fullbacks but other positions are IMO covered.
