The article has a couple of good little reminders in a similar vein
Screenshot from the article saying "Look I get it. He's very rich and influential and no-one ever says "no" to him - *checks notes* well, he's very rich and influential"

Imagine your efforts to exonerate Hirohito of war crimes being your *less* controversial contribution to the war!
Screenshot from Bonner Fellers' Wikipedia entry, stating "He is notable as the military attaché in Egypt whose extensive transmissions of detailed British tactical information were unknowingly intercepted by Axis agents and passed to Nazi German Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Rommel for over six months, which contributed to disastrous British defeats at Gazala and Tobruk in June 1942. After the war, he played a leading role in efforts to exonerate Hirohito and members of the Japanese Imperial Family from war crimes during the Tokyo Tribunal"

While the rest of the article is nonsense, I found this quite funny. Because 38% of men probably are above average! That's how averages work
Screenshot from the article saying "When it comes to general sporting ability, 38% of men reckon they are better than the average person, whereas nearly half (49%) of women believe they are worse than average"

Did the Iranian air force decide Top Gun Maverick was a training manual?
"According to PressTV, the F-5s flew to Kuwait from Iran at extremely low altitudes, at times below 50 feet, and at high speed to evade detection, including by E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) jets flying above. The pilots remained radio silence the entire time"

Survey says we're desperate 😭 But in all seriousness, in my experience enjoying a first date has far more to do with personality than looks, so I had a lot of "eh, sure" ratings

Starmer's record was also pretty poor! This is from June
This month 74% said he was doing badly, versus 18% who thought he was doing well, suggesting his net popularity had slipped to minus 56

Wait, did we elect a Labour government at some point? When did that happen?

The article begins "Andy Burnham has promised to end decades of government inaction by fixing adult social care in England - and did not rule out tax rises to help pay for it"

Not sure why Techbro is on the Blue side of this alignment (as the colours seem to largely be US-aligned, and Techbros seem more likely to be chuds than woke in the current environment) Also. Davos Vs Dubai? Is that like international Vs insular?
My results from this internet quiz showing views on certain things. I got 86% Woke Vs 14% Chud, 45% Techbro Vs 55% NeoLuddite, 69% Hopepilled Vs 31% Doomer, and 86% Davos Vs 14% Dubai, giving me a final 'closest match' of Santa Marin

It's rare for a news article to frame a situation with a clear and unambiguous 'good guy' but that's definitely how I'm reading this

While I'm not going to rely on it as a source, Wikipedia doesn't mention killing as part of that pogrom. Neither does YV's description (in image). I did see a mention of the number 150 on another site, but that's the number of rioters (is that the best word?), not the victims
"On April 10, 1941 a pogrom broke out in Antwerp's Jewish quarter. The rioters were members of right-wing movements who had been spurred on by local German authorities. They attacked two synagogues and a rabbi's home, and we're not restrained by the fire department or police"

"DeBlasio understood the situation. "I could have corrected him," he said. Instead, he played along. He used ChatGPT to compose a response criticizing Mamdani's tax plans, in particular, as unlikely to raise the requisite revenue.
"It was all in good fun. I never thought it would make it to print," DeBlasio said. He assumed the reporter would "have all his people check it out."

The Times deleted the article from its website, and issued a statement claiming that "our reporter had been misled by an individual falsely claiming to be the former New York mayor."
DeBlasio was particularly annoyed at the idea that, by operating under his own name, he could be labelled as an imposter or, as The New York Times put it, a "de Blasio impersonator."

Though if a shot aimed towards Cow Corner has gone over silly mid off, the batter has miscued it pretty badly The fielding positions aren't fixed (I think unlike baseball?), but this image is a decent guide
A map of fielding positions in cricket (for a right-handed batter). Cow Corner is on the bottom right of the field, Silly Mid Off is in the centre, slightly to the left. The batter is in the centre, slightly above the centre point, facing towards the bottom, where the bowler will bowl from
