Bad as it is, Israel's record is not as bad as that of Egypt, which drove out almost all of the 75,000+ Jews who lived in the country in the 1940s, so that almost none remain. Egypt's constitution is explicit about the state's Arab ethnic character and the Islamic sharia basis of its law.

Voting for Farage or Polanski is an egregiously bad thing to do imho. I don't agree Badenoch is equivalent. I will probably vote Labour but won't rule out voting Tory. Parties that explicitly pander to racism and prejudice, like Reform or the Greens, are another matter.

Countries colonised by Russia, like Chechnya, have the right to secede, as the constituent lands of Yugoslavia did. The Russian nation has the right to its own national existence and statehood, though.

And the Soviet Union's constitution also guaranteed its citizens all sorts of lovely democratic rights, none of which was respected in practice. The idea that Jews and Arabs have equal rights in Egypt is completely laughable.

For example, Egypt's official name is the 'Arab Republic of Egypt'. So it explicitly defines itself as an Arab ethnostate. Egypt has driven out almost its entire Jewish population since the 1940s, whereas Israel has about two million Arab citizens.

The UK's Green Party has revealed itself to be anti-Semitic. It didn't resolve that 'ethnonationalism is racism'; it singled out Jewish ethnonationalism (Zionism) as racism. I appreciate the Guardian newspaper, but it constantly asks for voluntary financial contributions from its readers. Its editor-in-chief has an annual salary of £602,000, which makes her a lot richer than I am, or than most Guardian readers. Why should we subsidise people who are richer than we are ?
