Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 10/07/2026People need to be employed to clean and maintain them, that costs money. Charging is perfectly reasonable, as long as that income is spent on keeping them clean and well maintained. The issues occur when that income is diverted elsewhere, and we end up with unclean/broken toilets that cost money 000
Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 10/07/2026It might have an effect on budget Android devices, but that is really it. 000
Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 10/07/2026Untrue. There are many caveats to the right to repair for smartphones in the EU from next year. TLDR; current designs are unlikely to change. Smartphones can keep sealed unibody designs if they feature an IP67 rating or higher and retain 80% capacity after 1,000 charge cycles 🫳🎤 100

Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 10/07/2026How about when you contact your #GP, and it's 8 weeks to get an appointment, or you can use e-consult, but don't be honest with your answers,as will likely end up at the "stop you symptoms are too serious and we can't continue, either lie about your symptoms or wait 8 weeks for an appointment" #WTF 000
Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 10/07/2026More people should be talking about how broken the #NHS #Dorset is. I needed to contact rheumatology last week, got bounced round 3 different answerphone numbers before ending up leaving a message that's never been followed up. 100
Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 25/06/2026I'm actually ok with the armrest. Seems to work well for me. I wonder how many people complaining are ACTUAL owners, or are just regurgitating something they read on Facebook. 100
Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 02/06/2026Pleased with mine, had it 2 months. Kia UK support is very poor, nobody considered customer support. I can get the claimed 250 miles if driven carefully, and already done an overnight temporary camper conversion and back to a 5 seater with tonnes of boot space. :-) 110
Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 02/06/2026Had my #KIA #PV5 Passenger Plus full #EV for a couple of months now, I really like it, however it does feel a bit rushed to market, KIA UK and even the #PBV dealers seem to be lacking any training or expertise. :-( The infotainment system feels very 0.9 factory release candidate. 201
Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 08/12/2025Add in unreadable text, and this has a stink of something being pushed over the line, with the "we gave you a choice on this". 000
Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 08/12/2025Worse, no real information as to what happens if the residents vote no. So it feels like it's being steamrollered through with a deliberate combination of lack of publicity and long documents that few will bother to read. 000
Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 08/12/2025After the #EU #brexit #referendum that had zero detail, this week, I have a local referendum for #weymouth that's defined by a 296 page pdf document that is larger than some novels.. www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/documents/d/...dorsetcouncil.gov.uk 200
Mark Gillespie @markngillespie.bsky.social · 22/10/2025Never been inside a #TSMC fab? I've been lucky enough to have done so on a few occasions and they are mind blowing places! There is a great video attached that shows how much #tech is used behind the scenes to make chips for your favourite devices.. 030
