Mark Mosedale @markmosedale.bsky.social · 01/08/2026This page was inspired by (very) old school Grand Theft Auto. Art, of course, by Si Smith. It’s from our book Gigs. 000 0
Mark Mosedale @markmosedale.bsky.social · 23/07/2026@iandunt.bsky.social Hullo! Listening to your ep about Luddism & would very much like to send you my comic, Gigs, about... well, a bunch of the stuff you were talking about in the episode. It's (this IS embarrassing to type) somewhat critically acclaimed. www.publishersweekly.com/9781603095938 110 0

Mark Mosedale @markmosedale.bsky.social · 23/06/2026Here's OUR librarian. She gets about. This is the bookplate Si did for La Belle Adventure. Also, it's worth saying that while Gigs isn't Si's debut, it is very much his graphic novel too, and he does get appropriate kudos in the review... 053 0
Mark Mosedale @markmosedale.bsky.social · 23/06/2026Another starred review 🫠 "VERDICT Mosedale’s debut graphic novel, an impressively humane work of speculative fiction, is intense, riveting, and profound." - @libraryjournal.bsky.social www.libraryjournal.com/review/gigs-... 211 0

Mark Mosedale @markmosedale.bsky.social · 19/06/2026Absolutely stonking launch for Gigs yesterday. Massive thanks to everyone who came to help us kick it out into the world, and especially to @okcomics.bsky.social. Without OK, this book just wouldn't exist. It was a big, emotional day for me. Very proud. 120 0
Mark Mosedale @markmosedale.bsky.social · 17/06/2026Proper chuffed that GIGS is @davidharper.bsky.social's graphic novel of the week. SKTCHD is such a good site, and in a world where everyone's pivoted to video for the 14th time, we're lucky to have such thoughtful written comics criticism. sktchd.com/column/the-p... 010 0

Mark Mosedale @markmosedale.bsky.social · 07/05/2026I decided it wasn't my business to dictate page structure on my and Si Smith's book, Gigs, but he used the nine for a big chunk of it and got a lot out of it. Great for emphasising the repetition of daily life (important to the book) and then allowing a bit of joy to really pop. 110 0
Mark Mosedale @markmosedale.bsky.social · 07/05/2026I've got a dystopian-ish graphic novel coming out in a few weeks and Si, my collaborator, used the grid for similar, oppressive effect. We also used a few montages to emphasise repetition that the grid served really well (and it also allowed a few moments of joy to really pop out). 161 0

Mark Mosedale @markmosedale.bsky.social · 13/03/2026You'd think I'd have got round to bellowing about the announcement of GIGS on here before now.
