Life imitating art: as experienced by @samfromwendover.bsky.social @adamchase.bsky.social and @thewheatgerm.bsky.social on the travel show "Jet Lag: The Game", the entire German train network appears to have been "Deutsche Bahn-ed". Not a good sign for anyone planning a European tour this autumn..

@adamchase.bsky.social an addition to your "why Britain is like that" with @lateralcast.com - TJ Maxx and TK Maxx have the same ownership, hence their similar branding. Their stores couldn't be called TJ Maxx in the UK because there was already an established UK retail chain called TJ Hughes

Such a shame - I went to the three KSL Finals Days at Hove which were v.well attended with good facilities laid on, despite what I'm sure was a tiny marketing budget. Though a lingering memory of 2019 was ECB's Tom Harrison getting booed at the presentation ceremony when he mentioned the Hundred!

Hants finish on 173-5. Would have bitten the proverbial hand off for that at 11-3 ! No sign of the @crickether.com win predictor but as we're technically in Berkshire, surely a home win on the cards?!

Boxing Day 1989 at Filbert Street. Lost 2-1 to a Leicester side who had Gary McAllister in midfield (number 10, when he still had a half-decent head of hair) and a young Kevin Campbell, on loan from Arsenal, up front.

Leap of faith here - if Callan McKenna were to play for Scotland on Monday, with Benji Buchel likely to be in goal for Liechtenstein, surely it'd be the first time that current and former #afcb goalkeepers faced each other in a full international where neither had made it off the first-team bench?

Terrific bowling by Emily Arlott. Was extremely impressed by her in a RHF Trophy game I watched at Wormsley a couple of years ago, surprised England have taken this long to cap her but thrilled she's started so well. Also keep thinking it sounds like West Indies have a player called Downton Abbey?!

A collector's item just before Mooney was dismissed - Filer was no-balled by the square leg umpire for having three fielders behind square on the leg side. Wyatt-Hodge at deep square leg had to shift. Not sure I've ever seen that before in 40+ years watching pro cricket! #Ashes #WomensAshes

MCG could use the services of a hawk here. Seagulls are marauding (despite having lost one of their number recently, vanquished by a James Vince straight drive - does he count as a Hawk?!), and will have complete control by the close of play if unchecked. #WomensAshes

Beware the "England fan zone" tickets advertised at $27 on the Cricket Australia website. Actually cost $35 at the MCG ticket window. That's not including the spurious $8 "transaction fee", so a grand total of $43. Not a great look for CA. Any other England fans have similar experiences?

A statistical oddity from this game: this was the middle of January 1991, yet Matty Holmes' opening goal was the first league goal #afcb had scored away from home on a Saturday in the entire 1990-91 season! (All previous away goals had been in cup games or midweek, plus one on a Friday night)
