As its the ridiculously slow International break, I though I would take the opportunity to re share this. I’ve collated and edited my articles from the split last season to make this long form diary. That last week man, wow. #Celticfc

Wrote an anecdotal tale about the time Tam Rogic played across the road. A ballerina in a moshpit. A white label that only Celtic fans got to heare. There are no stats in this because there are no metrics to describe the artistry of great touches, passes or players so mercurial. #Celtic

What’s happening at Celtic isn’t change though, not in a natural sense, where time is the ultimate arbiter. Minus a few glorious days at the end of last season, Celtic have stumbled between tumult and chaos for more than a year now. #Celticfc #Celtic

The lack of style and skill was hard to stomach, unacceptable for a Celtic team at home. The distribution had all the nuance and delicacy of a rushed baggage handler as balls were shelled indiscriminately, up the park. #Celticfc #Celtic

Martin O’Neill’s two interim spells in charge last season gave a lot of credibility to the perceived benefit of short-term change.

Great at getting to the byline but when he gets there he has to cross with his right and it’s always a bit of a pitch/wedge type cross, so would like to see him develop that and fire them across. Off the ball he’s a bit of a cheater which I’m no fan of. May benefit from playing with AJ.

Re: Celtic @markmcgowan.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
He’s not the finished article but I think he was quite good last night one he found his range. 2 or 3 good crosses that might have suited Hogh more and some nice passes, especially the one slipped through to Nygren.

Chat shit, get Yang'd. Finishing the game with Scales and Murray as full backs isn’t ideal, but it should be the last of it thankfully. Also, Sinisalo may well be a future No.1 but as it stands, he continues to conjure up danger from comfort. The goalkeeping position, is up for grabs. #Celticfc

Class made permanent. O’Neill still has the wily shrewdness; the arch, the faux-naif had most fooled until it came to the crunch. Whilst in situ, he took both Danny Rohl and Derek McInnes for a long walk without either of them realising. #Celticfc

What’s genuinely crazy in all this is the fact that the only concrete evidence we have - during the whole season - of someone coming on the pitch and actually touching an opposition player is when Derek McInnes pushed an Aberdeen player. The player had his back to him at the time. #Celticfc

The ending of the game was the perfect example of his calculated but also innate cunning. McInnes had spent his cards, while O’Neill had one up his sleeve. It was something like serendipitous that his old hat 3-5-2 would ultimately decide the game and the title. #Celticfc
