Just basing this on Jane Tranter and Richard Osman here both saying it's unthinkable that it won't be made in South Wales. Do they know something we don't ? It's a done deal for BBC Studio's?

Well except that they won't be putting any money at all into producing a series of Doctor Who for this year and next... because there won't be a series in 2026 and 2027... and maybe 2028, it seems.

I still don't quite get how it can be out to tender but only to companies based in Cardiff? If we had been told that the Xmas special was a stop gap to a 2028 tender (new series 2030ish), fandom might be a bit happier that essentially a new series is being brought much closer by the announcement.

There is a seamless bit of dialogue replacement in the new edit of The Sea Devils which is to be applauded for it's technical achievement... if nothing else. Well done @markayresrws.bsky.social Loved the overall sound mix too... and I've always struggled with the story because of the original score.
