I'm reaching the point where I almost want to stop funding the BBC on principle. It's just propaganda for the far right and why should I pay towards this?

The green party is about 5 times the size and reaching a far wider audience under Polanski. Why should he stand down?

So would you vote for labour because they don't have a motion on Zionism even though they are involved in the mass murder of children by providing weapons and intelligence flights? Genuinely interested as I don't see how the first is more offensive than the second.

What really winds me up about this is that no one is getting this angry about the gov actually providing ammunition and spy planes over Gaza. People are more upset about the motion than the actual mass murder of children and saying they'd rather vote Labour for a leader that supported the Iraq war

Caroline Lucas is a hero of mine but she's too nice for politics and the greens were always in the shadows. Zack took over and the party is about 4 times bigger with a massive membership. Everyone hates the greens because they are threatening the mainstream.

This disturbing article is in the Guardian. Just change Israel for Nazis: "The belief that the Nazis are engaged in a "war on children" is common amongst anti-fascists. Yes its upsetting that Jewish children have been killed, and the Nazis could have done more to minimise civilian casualties.."

The real question is, how did a motion get agreed where almost no one voted on it and why didn't most of the members participate? And can they have another?

Less than 1% of the membership voted for it, many of those online, and yet somehow it is now Green party policy? AFAIK all the party leaders and MPs opposed this motion which was forced through by a tiny number of new members. The Greens need to sort out their policy making mechanism ASAP.

Context should be provided. The greens are run by the members so this sort of thing can happen if you have a democracy. And most of the people representing the party do not agree with this motion. It's difficult but it's also what happens when you allow democracy. It gets complicated

This is a good summary of what's wrong with the motion

Mark in Devon @markindevon.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
This is apparently one common definition of Zionism: "Jewish liberation and sovereignty, a safe haven from persecution, a revival of the Hebrew language, and a renewed sense of collective pride." This doesn't mention taking someone else's land and as a result, can't be defined as racist.

I think the problem here is that you haven't explained clearly your opinions and linked to an article that appears to define Zionism as the taking of someone else's land. This brief summary from Carla Denyer is far more simple:

Flying is officially on course to account for *almost all* the UK's carbon dioxide emissions by 2050. Heathrow expansion alone would cause more carbon emissions by 2054 than *any other sector of the economy*. So why is it being contemplated? My column. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

A third runway would fly in the face of reason. If we are to prioritise human life over short-term ‘growth’, we need to use planes less, not more, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Your post doesn't make sense to me as it doesn't actually explain why you think Zionism isn't racist. Partly because you haven't even defined what you think Zionism is. Feels like you've skirted round the issue..

Welcome to the new normal. Widespread fires across the UK, running out of fresh water and next - food shortages. In the meantime Labour are going to drill for more oil to bring about societal collapse just that little quicker. That quiet retirement your saving for isn't going to happen.

There seems to be a collective insanity about climate change where the solutions seem to involve accelerating ecological collapse. As well as drilling for more oil, people seem to want to burn vegetation to save the planet

There's no avoiding the conclusion, however much dust the UK government throws into the air. By providing weapons, rhetorical and diplomatic support to the Israeli government as it has committed genocide in #Gaza, Keir Starmer and his ministers *are* complicit in this great crime.

Not only would this criminalise the use of Gaelic in Scottish elections, it would threaten to jail anyone who uses British Sign Language in a campaign video. At their first whiff of power Reform's priority is to make our democracy less accessible & threaten their political opponents.

and this isn't to downplay anti-semitism. My point is that the press and our politicians are politicising the issue when they should be dealing with both.

It's disturbing that the press and politicians are simultaneously worried about anti-semitism whilst refusing to even acknowledge Islamophobia. They report on attacks on Jews and Synagogues whilst pretending the same isn't happening to Muslims and Mosques. Only one group seems to matter to them.
