I welcome the Government’s recent announcement to introduce an import ban on goods from illegal settlements, including Gaza and the West Bank. Whilst this is a significant step, I feel more can be done and have written to the Foreign Secretary to call for more comprehensive sanctions.

I welcome the news that Preston Bus is taking part in the Government-funded scheme where all children aged 5-15 will be able to travel for free on all buses this August. However, I remain concerned about whether or not they or other bus companies will opt into the £2 bus fare cap.

It was great to be able to visit the #Preston Fedcap Office today as they celebrate Employability Day. I was able to see first-hand how users, employability coaches and local employers work together to ensure everyone on the employability scheme finds meaningful, well paid, sustained employment.

Labour is putting money back into #Preston with a £10.1m boost for local services and an extra £310 million for Lancashire over the next five years. This is a huge 38% increase for Preston City Council and 27% increase for Lancashire County Council, one of the largest settlements in the country.

The Budget announcements by the Chancellor today will renew our economy and communities, without resorting to austerity or increased borrowing. Instead it will cut NHS waiting lists, cut debt and borrowing and cut the cost of living. People in #Preston will be much better off.
