In the Kansas plains the land is flat and endless and when the wind starts blowing it just keeps going - unless you erect huge wind turbines to capture the energy. And this clean energy system works even in a pouring rain.

The last two in my Diana series are campus shots taken at the University Park Campus of USC. The USC Graduate School wanted a distinctive look to set it apart from other schools and it was decided that black and white photos with a toy camera was just the look.

My neighbor Estelle would dress-up to and walk to attend a square dancing class and one day I asked to take her portrait with her dog. The second is Vicky with flowers shot using a technique that I learned from Joyce Tenneson.

There was a time when government buildings had some heft and style. When you entered the building you felt that this was the place where important people work and service for the greater good was performed. One of those examples is the Nebraska State Capitol Building in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Hey #sprinter4x4 owners. Do you too have issues getting warranty service from @MBvansUSA after getting a suspension upgrade? They are not honoring our 5-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty when there is an issue. #FordTransit #transitvan #sprinter #sprintervan #mercedesbenzvans #vanlife #MBvansUSA

Looking to buy a #vanlife vehicle? If you are thinking of getting a #sprintervan think again. #MBvansUSA is using a suspension upgrade to not honor its 5-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. #FordTransit #transitvan #sprinter #sprintervan #MercedesBenz #mercedesbenzvans

Fields of tallgrass used to cover the midwestern landscape and in a small part of Kansas the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is protecting one of the last remaining prairies. Instead of showing wide fields of tallgrass, I decided to look close for the beauty.

Hudson Marquez, a member of the art collective Ant Farm had an idea to make seed packs where you could plant seeds that would grow cars. This idea sprouted into Cadillac Ranch a tribute to the Cadillac tail-fin along Route 66 west of Amarillo, Texas.

When I was a full-time photographer, my bread and butter was the environmental portrait and I'm still trained to look for great backgrounds. Fortunately I now travel with the lovely Petra Sutter. And when we reached the stairs out of the Chiesa San Pio Da Pietrelcina, I spotted a prime location.

From the ancient grotto church to the ultra modern cathedral designed by architect Renzo Piano. This is a church and sanctuary dedicated to the life of the mystic saint Padre Pio. The Chiesa San Pio Da Pietrelcina was built in 2004 and is the 2nd most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in the world.

The older shrine in Western Europe is the cave of St. Michael the Archangel. Located in the hilltop city of Monte Sant’ Angelo, the rock-hewn shrine was founded in the 7th century and it is believed that the archangel has appeared three times.

A funicular provides transport up above Naples, Italy up to the Castel Sant'Elmo which has the view of Mount Vesuvius behind the cross and bell tower of Certosa e Museo di San Martino. Vesuvius is of course famous for erupting and burying the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum back in 79 AD.

After the devastating 1693 earthquake the Sicilian town of Noto decided to rebuild five-mile away and follow a master plan that included a number of baroque style churches - many which are crowned with charming bell towers. After climbing you are rewarded with a fabulous view of the city.

A fun part about shooting people you don't know on the street is the ease we now have to share the photos with our subjects. I've used AirDrop, WhatsApp, texting and in this case email where I received this response: Tank Tank Tank Y O U.
