Old Skies toyed with my emotions, blast it. Hob's Barrow made me think 'well, maybe it won't get too creepy, the only thing that's been a bit spooky so far is this cat...oh. Uh oh.' I'll probably circle round to Unavowed after exploring the To the Moon Last Hour RPG demo in a couple of weeks.

The folks behind community-made NeoLemmix (contains level editor, level packs, tons of quality-of-life improvements to the game... www.neolemmix.com) settled on about 20 different skills for their version. Ones like Slider, Swimmer, Fencer and Laser Cutter survive. Alas, no Ballooner.

Interesting to see the lighting in that remaster, from the screenshots, appears to be the opposite approach to what CD Projekt Red has just done with Witcher 3 Remastered (which has definitely kicked up the bloom and gamma a few notches...).

This has made me go and check. The note 'if this bag breaks we will replace it free of charge' is written on the underside of the bag. In fairness to everyone in this thread, that's not the most obvious place to put that message.

It was a 'Lisa needs braces' moment as I saw my plastic bag with a big hole in the side, then I looked to the sign in front of me at the checkout, telling me I can get a replacement bag for free. Then I looked back at the bag with a hole in the side, then...

I only replaced one recently as I got an old bag out at the checkout and saw there was a massive hole in the side. That observation just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Otherwise it probably would've got stuffed in the back of a cupboard, forever.

Fortunately, I still have the packaging, so I can say it was these. Initially I was concerned they felt overstuffed, but were absolutely fine: www.therange.co.uk/home-furnish...

Feel dumb for saying this, but my sleep has improved markedly in the past few days just from getting new pillows. Not fancy new-technology ones, just nice soft ones from The Range. Really emphasised how knackered the old pillows must've been after all.

I'm sticking to the very narrow criteria of 'games I enjoyed playing while growing up'. The Monkey Island series, for example, I only played years later (when it wasn't on a million disks), so is disqualified from this list. Harlequin still creeps me out a bit.
The #my9games thing of the moment. My picks, as shown by nine different box covers of the games, are Pinball Fantasies, Ruff 'n' Tumble, Theme Park, Lemmings 2: The Tribes, Harlequin, Sid Meier's Civilization, World Circuit (aka Microprose Grand Prix), Sensible World of Soccer, and Zool 2.

I spoilt a movie-themed news page design for myself once - putting photos in boxes to look like a film reel strip - by realising reels haven't been used in cinemas for ages.

I'm a fan of Queen, but I would admit GH III should have a track where it's just the sound of Brian May and Roger Taylor scraping a barrel, which would be a more valid inclusion than about half the tracks on that album. (It wasn't a great hit, but I do genuinely love You Don't Fool Me, though).

That was the same problem I had with Witcher 2. I didn't care for the extensive politics and the plot as I didn't care for any of the characters in the path I chose (Roche), even Geralt; they ranged from charmless to contemptible. It's amazing it led to such a vastly superior sequel.

Really enjoyed the Mass Effect trilogy. First one is a bit dry but there are still some good character moments. Number 2 taught me to do the combat properly and I had more fun as a result. When it's on sale, the remastered trilogy is stupidly cheap.

I'm also playing through Cyberpunk. Took me a while to get in to it, but enjoying the world now it's opened up a bit. I must try Atomfall myself one day, having played the Fallout: London mod last year - that was very impressive (the mod is also much less glitchy in its current version).

The F1 Facebook group I was part of was very toxic in 2007, and still pretty unpleasant the following year, for several reasons. One-season wonder Brawn was an excellent palate cleanser in 2009.

Funny how most of the things forecast in that advert did come to pass (well, 3DTV didn't catch on, but was still rolled out as a feature in many modern sets). HDTV was only off by about 20 years.

I think, theoretically, anyone can be called up. It's usually when people get to court that the jury pool gets whittled down (typically a jury pool of 15 or 16 people is reduced to 12 through exemptions, or - if there's no issue - just by a random draw). This assumes the trial goes ahead on the day.

Any animated series that featured one of the British talents of Tim Curry, Tony Jay or Long John Baldry was immediately a better one. Tim Curry only voiced in one episode of off-the-wall superhero comedy Freakazoid, but he certainly made the most of it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1r_C...
