AI helping McDonald’s set prices isn’t the scary part. The scary part is what it optimizes for: cheaper meals… or finding the exact dollar amount you’ll tolerate before walking away. If “innovation” means squeezing $1.37 more out of lunch, customers won’t clap.

Unpopular opinion: your dog shouldn’t be five feet into my lawn like it pays the mortgage. Curb strip? Fine. Pick up the poop? Obviously. But the house-side yard isn’t public property. Keep the leash short and respect the grass people paid for.

Food, clothes, shelter, school runs, doctor visits… that’s Parenting 101. Kids should learn gratitude, not lifelong debt. I chose to be a parent. The basics aren’t a favor to be held over their heads.

AI drive-thrus are great until you need to order 18,000 waters just to reach a human. Automation should make tacos faster, not turn lunch into a jailbreak. The winners won’t just use AI everywhere. They’ll know where humans still win.

$400k at 3.5% = $1,796/month. At 7% = $2,661. That $865 gap isn’t a trap—it’s a golden handcuff. Owners with 3% mortgages aren’t stuck. They’re rational. The real prisoners are buyers locked out of the homes nobody wants to sell.

If I’m still in my car when you hand me the coffee, I’m not sure how we got to 25%. 😂 Tip for real service? Absolutely. Tip because a payment screen asked nicely? No thanks. The kiosk didn’t earn a commission.

You don’t get to order a $125 dinner and “find your budget” on the tip line. Tipping culture is messy, sure. But full-service means service. If the extra $25 breaks the night, the problem was the $125 meal—not the server.

$26 for a burrito that used to be $14 is how inflation turns lunch into a budget meeting. Smaller wrap, bigger bill, same sadness. At this point, my homemade sandwich has officially entered its wealthy era. 😂

To my kids: if life breaks your plans, come home. No lecture. No shame. No proof you chose perfectly. Regroup first. Rebuild next. Independence means building your own life—not losing your safe place when it gets hard. The door is open. Always.

Maybe 12-year-olds shouldn’t only be trained to chase college admissions. Home Depot’s free Path to Pro program lets teens explore electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, and safety. Smart business? Absolutely. Also smart for kids who might avoid debt and find a career they actually like.

“Just buy a used car” isn’t the cheat code it used to be. When the “responsible” option is $20k, plus high interest, insurance, repairs, and tires… the real question isn’t new vs. used. It’s affordable vs. unaffordable.

Putting $100K/year into life insurance for “retirement”? Before you sign, demand the real numbers: fees, surrender charges, guarantees, loan costs, and the agent’s commission. Permanent insurance can have a place. But $100K/year deserves scrutiny, not a sales pitch.

The bank’s approval isn’t your affordability number. A bigger house can quietly steal your investing, travel, college savings, and peace of mind. Buy the home that lets you sleep when the HVAC makes a noise—not the one that impresses the lender.

Can’t max a Roth IRA? Cool. Don’t. Put in $50 or $100. At 7%, $100/month from 25 to 65 becomes about $262K. Starting at 35? About $122K. Waiting to do it “right” can cost six figures.

Your $11 coffee isn’t the villain. The real wealth killers? $75k cars, 25% credit cards, lifestyle creep, oversized mortgages, constant upgrades, “small payments,” and waiting to invest. Cut the leaks that actually sink the ship.

The smartest tax move isn’t always a loophole. Sometimes it’s knowing what the IRS doesn’t tax: Roth withdrawals, life insurance proceeds, some home-sale gains, muni interest, HSA distributions, child support, and more. Rules matter. Use them correctly.

A 32-hour workweek bill sounds like a raise: $25/hr, 40 hours = $1,100 instead of $1,000. But it’s phased in, unlikely to pass, and could mean higher prices, fewer hires, or automation. More family time? Yes. One-size-fits-all mandate? Risky.

Markets crash. Your diversified 401(k) usually doesn’t go from $800k to $0 because CNBC had a scary chyron. The real danger? Panic-selling a 30% drop… then watching the recovery happen without you. Bad plans break before bad markets do.

The 1980s weren’t all sitcoms and single-income households. But younger families aren’t imagining things. Housing, childcare, cars, and healthcare now swallow more of two paychecks than basics once did. Personal responsibility matters. So does admitting the starting line got more expensive.

Couples’ millionaire cheat code: Open 2 Roth IRAs. Invest $625/month each in VOO/IVV. Let compounding work. From 2026 to 2051, that’s $375k contributed—and at 10% average returns, about $1.66M. Best part: qualified Roth withdrawals are tax-free.

Chili’s went from “your parents’ Friday night spot” to one of America’s hottest restaurant stocks. Five straight years of comp-sales growth. +70% cumulative comps. Stock up ~50% this year. No reinvention. Just value, better execution, and a brand people talk about again.

Hotel “nights” are funny. Check in at 3, out by 10, and somehow that’s a full night. 😂 I’d love more time, but if checkout becomes 3 and check-in stays 10… I’m meeting the last guest in the shower.

I’d rather be 41 with $28K and momentum than 41 with $0 and excuses. No, it won’t fund retirement. It proves you started. Once you move, your mindset changes. Raises, bonuses, $100s become fuel. You didn’t miss the window. Don’t spend a decade staring.

America’s housing shortage in one stat: Nearly half of homeowners have mortgages at 4% or less. Today’s buyers face ~7%. Selling doesn’t feel like upgrading. It feels like volunteering for a bigger payment on the same house. That’s why inventory is frozen.

Same $500K mortgage. At 3%: about $2,100/month. At 7%: about $3,325/month. That rate jump costs buyers roughly $1,200 extra every month—without borrowing a dollar more.

Your debt doesn’t usually die with you—but it usually doesn’t move in with your kids either. Creditors get paid from your estate first. Heirs get what’s left. Exceptions: joint accounts, cosigners, secured loans, and state laws. Estate planning = protecting your family from confusion.

Apple at $5 trillion still feels unreal. It’s not just iPhones anymore: Services, wearables, silicon, Macs, buybacks, and brand power turned a computer company into a cash-printing empire. A decade ago $1T sounded impossible. Now $5T barely shocks us.

McDonald’s is spending $8.5B to fix restaurants—and bring back playgrounds it spent years removing. Wall Street flinched. But the lesson is simple: cut the thing kids love, and you don’t just save money. You lose tomorrow’s customers.

$6.25M at 4% buys $250K/year. But if you’re debt-free in Akron, with low housing, what are you actually spending it on? Retirement isn’t just hitting a number. It’s knowing when the number is enough.

Housing affordability is awful. But cheering for another 2008 isn’t the answer. A crash can mean cheaper homes — alongside layoffs, foreclosures, tighter credit, and vanished equity. We need affordability to improve without detonating the economy to get there.

$100K used to sound like you’d made it. Now it can feel like you’re just keeping up. Bigger paycheck. Bigger rent. Bigger grocery bill. Bigger insurance premium. Six figures isn’t luxury anymore. For many, it’s survival with better branding.

McDonald’s went from “cheap backup plan” to “maybe we should cook.” Fast food used to be quick, easy, and mindless. Now two meals can feel uncomfortably close to a sit-down bill. When the cheap option stops feeling cheap, people notice.

Great investments can still be wrong if they’re in the wrong order. Build cash first. Get the full 401(k) match. Then look at Roth IRA/HSA/401(k) maxing. Taxable brokerage comes later for flexibility. Give every dollar a job before it leaves.

Save $10,000, get $50,000 matched? A new Senate bill would create accounts giving first-time homebuyers a 5:1 federal match, up to $60,000 total for a down payment. Big catch: economists warn it could boost prices if supply stays tight.
