The blue morph arctic fox represents only about 1-3% of the circumpolar arctic fox population but is the most common variant on the extreme north coast of Iceland, only accessible by boat. The blue morph is generally black, brown, or grey in the summer, becoming slightly lighter in the winter.

Arctic fox, on the remote north coast of Iceland last week. It's amazing how these little guys manage to survive up there. I spotted this barn owl hunting in the fields that border my garden just as it was going dark last night. ISO 12800 and still a little noisy around the wingtips but it cleaned up quite nicely in Topaz. Fingers crossed he's a regular visitor and will have another look for him tonight #ukwildlife
