Test it: Set up with the ball forward and the handle back, then adjust to a neutral handle or slight shaft lean. Feel the difference in how you strike down at the ball. Even imperfect strikes will launch better.

Instead, position the ball just inside your lead heel. But here’s the real key: make sure the handle (grip) is level with—or even slightly ahead of—the clubface. This promotes a downward strike for better launch and solid contact.

Let me explain: Golfer one, Started at address + 8° (that’s rotated towards target) Then at the top of their back swing, they have rotated -35° (so away from target) They have rotated a total of 43°
