Good stuff on here. Isolation a standout. Wish db would've paid as much attention to his NLMD tracks (although wish he'd left the electronic influence off this too).

The great track from hours....with its Annette Peacock influence an early reference point revisited

The very brilliant Thomas Dolby as David Bowie introduced him at live aid ...and therein lies one of the most varied autobiographies from synth popper to composer for foreigner, strange meetings with Michael jackson and production with prefab sprout and then developing tech for Nokia. Blinding.

One of the most curious sounding records that got to a UK no1. Has there ever been as big a hit novelty record follow-up? 😉 A work of art.

My fave live show db did in the 80s. Wish he had continued down this road. Some of the sound and vision set pieces were stunning but he never seemed fully engaged with it which is probably unfair but how it seemed to me.

010

Brabs @markbrabs.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

Just about my favourite thing he did live in the 80s. When I thought of bowie, for me,this is all that name stood for, and wish he'd have developed this path without adding the sales bros.

Strange play at "metal" Album that has its iggy moments not least the title track, played a lot of the great "lost" kill city songs on this tour. Met him in Manchester after the show and what a lovely if hyper guy he is. Also told us that db was working with the sales bros again....
