The FTC reports fraud losses among 60+ y.o. are higher than those among younger people. The unfortunate loneliness seniors experience leaves them vulnerable to “taking a chance” when employment is out of reach. Check out “The Job Scam Report” podcast on Substack.

Scammers read headlines, but my theory isn't about stats. They’re looking for the advantage. It’s not a competitive one. But the emotional edge. They’re looking for the clearest path to steal your identity, and in the long game, your assets.

The @AP (AP, 3/24/26) said: “Just 28% of workers in a quarterly Gallup survey conducted late last year said now is a ‘good time’ to find a quality job, w/ 72% saying it is a bad time.” If you have asthma, you adapt to whatever the weather conditions are. You adapt.

My latest guide, **150 Simplified Ways to Outsmart Job Scams in 2025**, is designed for anyone who wants to job search with confidence, protect their identity, and avoid falling for seemingly legitimate job offers that aren’t real. Bad actors aim to obtain your personal information through any means necessary. They are targeting individuals rather than just hacking technology to steal information and livelihoods. Today’s job search requires a strategic approach along with safety measures to protect your time, money, and personal information. The technology to generate high-quality AI scams and deepfake videos is already available and unlikely to disappear anytime soon.

I chose the job search and career advice/coaching (which I no longer coach) over personal training (ISSA certified). I loved both, but my gift was helping job seekers and writing about it. This article displays a hybrid of both, even today. thevoiceofjobseekers.com/how-to-trans...
I received my fitness certification in 2010 with the International Sports and Sciences Association through independent study and additional training beyond required continuing education. I scored an 85% on my certification test and was proud.

In the same year, I consulted with a firm assisting federal employees on Army bases transitioning to other federal jobs or the civilian sector. Some of the work was remote, providing career coaching and federal resume writing while I substitute taught, which fit perfectly.
