There isn’t an option on the ballot to go back to the BC Liberals of old. You may be underestimating how bad a Conservative government could be. A significant proportion of the party is very invested in the idea of the education system being the front line of the culture wars.

I'm mostly happy with the things the NDP has been spending money on, their mistakes have mostly been on the revenue side - to give one example, abandoning the carbon tax.

If you are on the fence this will not make you more likely to vote NDP. I am very much not on the fence. I do stand to lose from the tax bracket changes, but the cash will be cold comfort if I'm living through a BC Conservative train wreck government.

History shows that the NDP has a ceiling of around 30% here, Ralph Sultan used to get 60-70% of the vote. Signs are not good but NDP is probably best shot for displacing the Cons.

In 2024 I made the mistake of thinking that Kirkpatrick as a former B.C. Liberal running as an independent had the best chance of beating the Cons in WV Capilano. Boy did I get that wrong.

Every time I am back in London, as I was last week, I'm forcefully reminded how much better pedestrian priority vs cars *and bikes + scooters* is here in Vancouver. I don't expect much from drivers but it's a constant source of disappointment when a cyclist does not yield to pedestrians.
