I parted with my agent & haven't written in a year. I often feel shame, but while I haven't been writing I have been creating. My husband & I taught ourselves to build this downsize cottage so I can retire early & do what I love. Today, we gathered the cats & moved in. It's time to write again.

I just finished a big MS revision then turned around and wrote my first ever screenplay while building a house and selling another and I just wanted someone to know about it.

Today, I finished the 1st draft of a thriller I'm excited about. I miss having folks to celebrate with. I left Meta due to oppressive policies & Twitter (no explanation needed) & lost a rich interactive community of artists. I don't regret the decisions, but I long for the community I left behind.

I know writers are discouraged right now. It feels hopeless releasing art into a world that’s burning. But this week, I found my 18-y-o son sobbing—SOBBING—in class (I teach at his school) because he’d just finished a book. He said the ending made him want to help others. Please, don’t stop writing.
