I wanted to share this a long time ago... It was a bit scary to take on designing figures for a book, but I could not miss a chance to create visual content for the INTERDISCIPLINARY PERSPECTIVES ON PLANETARY WELL-BEING! jyx.jyu.fi/jyx/Record/j... #SciComm #GraphicDesign #InfographicDesign

I designed a logo for my dog, Sisu. But the most interesting part is the process.

An illustration from an infographic I created for a research project application, examining the impacts of climate change, human stressors, and invasive species on Arctic lakes. #FreelanceGraphicDesigner #GraphicDesignCommission #ResearchIllustration #SciComm #FreshwaterEcosystem

Schematic illustration that I created for COLDWEBS project. The project looked into food webs and salmonid fish populations in cold-water Fennoscandian lakes at different latitudes and altitudes, how natural and anthropogenic factors impact those food webs and fish populations #ResearchIllustration

I truly appreciate jobs like this! Helping to visualize important topics about the future of the natural world. A figure showing Future biodiversity loss scenarios in Finland was commissioned by the Finnish Nature Panel (@luontopaneeli.fi‬) in 2023 #ScienceCommunication #illustrator #GraphicDesign

My drawing of a "living fossil" tadpole shrimp (Lepidurus apus) for the Daugavpils Bat Centre in Daugavpils, Latvia. These crustaceans are occasionally found in the moats of Daugavpils Fortress. A rare sight, as they appear only in the spring if there is flooding that year. #SciComm #illustration

June 30 – July 4, 2025, I participated in organising and documenting the “Ecologies of Trust” summer school in Daugavpils led by four researchers: curator and architect Kaisa Karvinen, artist Jaakko Karhunen, designer Tommi Vasko, and anthropologist Mari Vaara. #ArtProject #EvenPhotographer

I was officiall photographer for Oikos Finland 2025 Conference! Four day full-time photoshoot. My fingers hurt from holding camera, but it was so much fun! Thanks to the organisers of @oikosfinland.bsky.social for choosing me as a photographer, especially to @pauliarancibia.bsky.social!
