Hi, broken record here. The same degraded information environment that led to Trump being elected is still in place. Most people still aren't being told what's happening, who's at fault, or what the effects will be. And there's zero reason to think traumatic events will "wake people up."

We’re in this mess in large part bc the average American is uninformed about fundamentals of civics, history, basic biology, economics, etc, and media and the internet are not meeting the moment. Is anyone organizing teach-ins or similar for the general public, whether irl or online?

Straight climate denial has diminished. @michaelemann.bsky.social, a leading climate scientist, talks about how there are other D's now for obstructing climate action. Division, deflection, doomism and *delay.* That's why journalists & members of the public have to scrutinize calls for new tech.

Tomorrow (and everyday) would be a great day to support Small/Local Businesses. Pay with cash but no credit cards in solidarity with the economic blackout. They can’t afford to lose sales. They’re the backbone to your community. With Love, A Small Business Owner 🩵

Today is Disability Day of Mourning, when our community remembers disabled people lost to filicide. Join us for our virtual vigil tonight at 6pm ET: youtu.be/MXGAnBRM5zM
Dark blue gradient background with three glowing candle illustrations near the bottom (two on right side, one on left). The ASAN logo is in between the candles. Text reads: Today, March 1st, is Disability Day of Mourning. On Disability Day of Mourning, we remember those in our community lost to filicide. In the past five years, over 542 people with disabilities have been murdered by their parents, relatives, or caregivers. We hold vigils on March 1st to commemorate the lives of those we've lost and to draw attention to these injustices. Join us tonight for our virtual vigil.

I am going to get my act together and fully migrate to BlueSky. I want to use all social media to promote my book. There's no point doing this much work and let it be lost inall the noise. People need to know it exists, then make the choice of whether to buy and read it. I'm grateful for any shares.
