Friends, today is truly a monumental day. I am elated to announce the mariNSF Original Track Collection physical NES cartridge is finally a reality! This is the culmination of a project now over two years in the making. Two years of practice, learning and becoming a better chiptune composer! :)

Currently reworking every single OP track ROM in preparation for the flashcart production; it'll not be the usual track selection, but the complete singles collection, so I think the ROMs should look nicer and feature a bit more. The hardest part is coming up with all the new flavor/ambience texts.

In a few months it'll be a year since Metroid Prime 4 released and I've yet to see a single chiptune version of any track, which is a shame. Despite its many flaws, it has good music. So here's a VERY early preview of a Volt Forge WIP I've started working on. I don't know when (or if) it'll be out.

The new mariNSF NES ROM file is now available for download on the project website. It now features only the 8 tunes from the Track Selection; it replaces the previous 10-track version. The ROM is now in accordance with the other distribution formats such as the Windows program and the floppy kits.

Glad to announce the mariNSF track selection floppy archives are out! :) V1 contains 8 tracks, a player, track art and a selection of unrelated demoscene prods; V2 contains 8 tracks and a different player with a visualizer plugin. Both disks come with custom information/documentation programs.

I've made a 1.44mb floppy disk with my OP track selection (the same 8 in the program and on Bandcamp) in .nsf format, a few specialized players to go with it, a track art folder and a small program with the project and track information. There's still about ~300kb left of space!

For Metroid 40th, I'd like to share the only 2A03 cover I've made from the series, the main Bryyo theme from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. It's almost 2 years old so it's not my most impressive work at this point, but it's part of my composing journey and I'm still proud of it. :)

July 2026 project updates: - Bandcamp album now features an 8-track selection instead of the full OP playlist. - mariNSF dedicated Windows player updated to match Bandcamp options; new track ambiance descriptions have been written and artwork is now displayed in the program.

test: mariNSF originals individual track ROMs running on NES emulator for the DSi I had issues with the compilation multicart ROM, but all standalone tracks are working :) it seems nsf playback is supported, so I'll test the module outputs and if they work, I'll switch the ROMs for those instead.

[NEW] re-released .nes compilation mariNSF originals: tracks 01 - 10 the first file listed ("mariNSF originals) is actually a custom title screen card. hard reset to "return" to file selection screen. if other files are listed, reset the emulator; behaves unintendedly on browser-based emulators.
