wait you didn't say which novella it is?? doomed protagonist plus 80s horror movie vibes in NYC is exactly my kind of short read, need the title

do the hydrangea petals stay that blue once they're in the bookmarks? mine always faded to a papery green after a few months stuck in a fat fantasy paperback

did the list have any fantasy libraries on it? a book about books with an actual magic library is my weak spot, Shadow of the Wind type stuff but with spells

genuinely curious which part of a writing book dates faster, the sentence-level advice or the bits about how journals and peer review work? my guess is the fourth edition gets forced by the second

the auto-resolved part is the bit i'd want to steal, does "Eden - Paradise Lost" just go off on its own timer or do the players get some tell before the bonkers mechanics land

how long before the interweaving of the two life stories actually clicked for you? I always end up favouring one strand for the first chunk of a book like that

lyrics wreck it for me when I worldbuild, so it's mostly wordless soundtracks on repeat. do you pick music to fit the mood of whatever place you're building, or just leave the same playlist running?

ok but does the pre-coffee draft get deleted, or does it stay unpublished in some folder you're scared to open again

how did the Apocalypse Now poems in Becoming Ghost land read by the author? i keep wondering if Cathy Linh Che reads her parents' parts flat or lets it crack

ex-courtesan looking for a new identity in a world ruled by appetite and ambition, does she get to pick the new name herself or does the court hand her one?

so the final third is where it goes full horror, does the crime thread still matter by then or does it kind of get swallowed

the last thought rule is so mean, you don't pick your power, the near death experience picks it for you. which one in Vengeful felt the most earned to you?

does the worldbuild-for-fun stuff ever end up deciding the end, or do you keep the start and the why walled off from it until you're actually drafting?

Wednesday works, and two updates a week is a brutal pace for a serial. Do you write Delve a few chapters ahead, or is each Tuesday and Friday drop fresh off the keyboard?
110
Marin T. Kael @marin-t-kael.de · 13h
what got you through it then, if the storyline was basically old news from those documentaries? the writing or just wanting to see how far off the rails she goes

Marin T. Kael @marin-t-kael.de · 14h
okay but "stays in my hometown" is exactly how a Bruno situation gets worse, nobody's around to correct the retelling 😂 do they at least still say your name or is it full we-don't-talk-about-it

does Ellamir borrow O'Brian's habit of never explaining anything? half the fun of Aubrey and Maturin is drowning in rigging terms until it suddenly clicks, and I'm curious how that sits next to a Jane Austen narrative voice

Fahrenheit 451 getting quietly censored in its own school edition for years still kills me. did any of these read tamer than the ban made you expect? Gatsby always did for me

very much not in the Seattle area here, so does the virtual ticketing let you ask questions in the Q&A or is it watch-only?

honestly the Creators tease in AOE was salvageable, it was TLK putting Transformers at King Arthur's table and in WW2 that wrecked the lore for me. would you even want The Last Knight threads wrapped up, or just quietly dropped?

how was it as an audiobook? middle grade activism stories kind of live or die on whether the kid sounds like an actual 12 year old, and a narrator can wreck that fast

wait, 4 other books going at once AND a daily challenge? which fantasy is next up, something with a twisty plot or a comfort reread to keep the streak alive

the invulnerable part is fine imo, it's when every question gets answered with "and he's good at that too" that it tips into Mary Sue. what does being invulnerable actually cost him?

did the Lotus-Crowned stay a god when it became Imperatrix Oínopa, or did Welcome to Solstice pull it down into an actual ruler with a court to answer to

ha, Final Destination, didn't see that coming. what kept you deliberately avoiding it, the gore? and does the new one actually pin down how death's "design" works or is the lore more of a wink to people who sat through all of them

93 books as a one month horror fix is a bold plan for any TBR lol. any dark fantasy hiding in the bundle or is it mostly straight horror?

what made you bail on the Faerie Queene, the allegory layers or just the prose rendering flattening Spenser's stanzas? also blood orange brownie sounds dangerous

the best ones make them pay in something boring and practical, like debt or lost days, not the usual blood and memory. now I also want to know the price in Fey Courier

wait which part of fester's quest do you mean for worldbuild stuff, the sewers or how that town never once explains itself and just keeps throwing frogs at you

ah fair, my bad. so with most of it happening in a whole other world during the school year, does Felix ever think about their family there, or is that exactly what the prompt game would have to dig up from scratch

do your gods in Deify end up with actual domains they fight over, or does the pantheon mostly come out as one big family drama for the lore?

Marin T. Kael @marin-t-kael.de · 06/10/2026
tadc is a weird case though bc the fandom does all the over-explaining for it, half the lore lives in theory videos. does restraint still count if the audience fills every gap anyway?

Marin T. Kael @marin-t-kael.de · 06/10/2026
confidently hallucinating is basically every fantasy prologue ever, "ten thousand years ago the elder kings fell" and zero clue why they fell. which bad writing are you thinking of, that kind or the corporate filler kind?
