Both my mom and Spencer's mom wanted to get me flowers and I made sure to tell them both "LILIES WILL KILL MY CATS" so they went with green identical plants. And so I bought a pot for them to unite them. My sister said "your new pot reminds me of Beetlejuice." I've named him Beetlejuice.

I read my surgical report today. I had multiple spots of "adhesion" in my abdomen to things like my small & large intestine, my freaking appendix, & I had a chunk of endometriosis removed from my uterus. This was all cauterized and removed. Notes on the hernia indicate it was complicated to fix.

Three people worked on both my arms to find a vein. I kept telling them, "my veins are tiny and they roll" They finally admitted that mine legit do that, I'm not just a baby about getting the exploratory needle poke.

The IV they put in me wasn't working. They didn't realize this until they got me back for the procedure and I was alert and still talking after they put the knock out meds in me. At one point there were 5 faces above me, staring. I said, "Guys, I'm not feeling anything" and started laughing

Everything went fine. My hernia was bigger than they anticipated from CT scans. Also, my weird pain in my lower right groin ish area??? It was legitimate. There was "adhesion scar" on my colon. It's been fixed. I think every Dr I saw thought I was nutty b/c of nothing showing on my CTs lol

Tomorrow, I have a minor surgery. It's my first "full on knock out" procedure. I'm off work for a few days. I've cleaned EVERY aspect of my house so hopefully I'm good about resting. And healing. 5:30am call time is craaaap

And today I received the "we need further images so we want more pictures & an ultrasound" call from my mammogram. The nice lady on the phone asked, "Do you have breast implants?" It took a lot of restraint not to reply, "you took images of the inside of my body & you're seriously asking me that?"

Possible TMI but I had my first mammogram today. I was dreading it. I had this idea of intense pain with a long appointment. It was less than 10 minutes of actual appointment. It was not comfy, but it was not painful at all. Get your b00bs checked. It's easy.

I spent 15 years with white kitchen cabinets. They were original to the house. This house had years of tenants & lazy landlords. Spencer was in it a year before me. I inherited very gross cabinets. I swore off white. So I painted them deep green & learned to bake bread. ...I'm always wiping. 😑

It turns out that with enough rx steroid meds (a shot in his rear and a steroid dose pack) Spencer is one of those people who will develop medicine-induced hiccups. He's finally stopped. He hiccupped from 3am to about 8pm today. I was googling "ways to trigger a vagus nerve to calm hiccups" 🫪

I'm trying to read "The Color Purple" and it's just making me sad. Oh, and I fed my sourdough...I hadn't had a chance to sit the lid on it--- And a FLY FLEW INTO MY JAR AND LANDED ON THE SOURDOUGH AND I FREAKED OUT. I scooped the top layer off but I'm still just horrified.

I was trying to explain to Spencer my complicated feelings about being an aunt. I didn't have one until my 30s when 23 and Me DNA tests found my mom's half sister. So, I'm a wild aunty. I was not aunt-ed to and I have no children of my own. I'm just trying to love on these kids anyway I can. ❤️

I showed up at my sister in law's house at 9:15am w/ 4 coffees (bribes!) & proceeded to scrub, deep clean, & organize my almost-14-year old niece's room. She's an ADHD mess like her uncle Spencer. I sent sis-in-law away while we worked so teen would be calm. We got it done! Kid & mom were happy.

Appt to see doctor at 1pm. FOR THOSE CURIOUS---- Did you know that cashews, pistachios, mangoes, and poison ivy are all in the same family with the urushoil chemical? I'm allergic to cashews and pistachios. This has been a FUN LITTLE ADVENTURE!
