The original Springfield, Illinois, Carnegie public library (1904 - 1975, RIP) had frosted glass floors up in the stacks. Once a person got used to standing, sometimes sitting, on glass, it was comforting. I still have dreams about the building. 📷 Lincoln Library

Oh, wow! That is so cool. And wonderful. I listened to both when I lived in Chicago. WLS also in Springfield and Muskegon, Michigan. I took my two little girls to Pere Marquette Beach and we watched the Sun start to go down over the lake as Larry signed off. I cried. 📻
