a few days back in a server someone was ranting about how touhou 6 not letting you see the final stage on easy mode was Insulting and they were Insulted as a player and it was a travesty that a game would Insult them like that and I had to hold back on saying they might be taking it too personally

EoSD New Classic is awesome because the original game couldn't be played on modern hardware without mods to make the game run better. And even then when I open it up on my PC it sometimes just refuses to run. Both EoSD New Classic and EoSD Classic are great for making the game more accessible.

With EoSD New Classic almost releasing, I've added it to the Works part of the Touhou Tier List Creator, along with Artificial Utopia in Ruins. My website supports EoSD:NC as of now, so LNNs and world records can be added from Day 1!

As usual, here's the English-translated Touhou poll results for this year! Took about 5 minutes to put it up this time. 💪 Questionnaire will follow soon or later. It's already on the toho-vote site in Japanese.

Touhou 20 WRs listed on my website have been converted to the original, unpatched scores. They can be watched in-game without any external tools. The entire WR history of the game is also there! I built it from scratch, once again using @hoangcaominh.bsky.social's awesome replay reader script!

I've launched a Touhou PC-98 leaderboard! Much like Nyanko's Extra scoring website, it uses a system with 3 scoring thresholds that must be met to attain a certain "status". Each category's "Big" threshold is the minimum score required to be listed in that category. Artwork is by YorktownCV-5!

Maribel Hearn @maribelhearn42.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

Scores have been added to the LNN page. You can now sort categories as well, so you can easily tell which is the highest-scoring LNN. And what's more, thanks to Cao Minh's replay parsing tool, we now automatically add the score from replays! 🎉 Thank you @hoangcaominh.bsky.social!! 👌

New feature for the WR and LNN pages: When you click a game, the game will be added to your current URL. Each game name is also a link to the game. This means that you can now link someone to a specific game! No more telling everyone to click a certain game :)

Maribel Hearn @maribelhearn42.bsky.social · 17/06/2026

KirbyComment recently worked on an insane Google sheet containing hundreds of missing former WRs. We have now inserted 406 replays into my database, some of which are as old as 2004 or even 2003! The Touhou WR history is now considerably more accurate as a result :) Massive props to KC!

Maribel Hearn @maribelhearn42.bsky.social · 06/06/2026

Additonally, I have removed the Western Records sections from the WR page. These sections are very old, forgotten about, and hardly relevant these days. It made sense in the old community, very long ago, when every world record was Japanese. Nowadays, not so much. It's long been obsolete.

0110

Maribel Hearn @maribelhearn42.bsky.social · 06/06/2026

For clarity's sake, I added more clear information to the LNN page. This should help prevent any confusion in the community as to how my site operates, how to get accepted, etc. You can find this information popup by clicking on the link at the top of the page. JP translation available so far.

061

Maribel Hearn @maribelhearn42.bsky.social · 05/06/2026

The high score storage page now generates a score heatmap! Currently it's coloured by WR percentage, but this may be improved in the future, because it is not an ideal indicator of skill for steep scaling categories. Your highest scoring shottype (in terms of WR%) is picked for each cell.

051

Maribel Hearn @maribelhearn42.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

I've redesigned the Scoring page on my website! In this design there is much less scrolling for the user. Instead you can just expand/collapse every game individually, so you can focus on the ones that you have actually scored. The page follows the Survival page's system :) More updates to come!

Maribel Hearn @maribelhearn42.bsky.social · 29/05/2026

Update: I have now added every previous Touhou Popularity Poll in English! That is, the character and music votes. The older questionnaires may be translated at a later date, as well as the 2004 and 2003-only Spell Card sections that were included in the polls. Maybe some day.

Maribel Hearn @maribelhearn42.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

The Touhou World Cup website now has a page where you can view last year's clips! You can either choose a match to view its clips, or click the button to view a random clip. Have fun!

0123

Maribel Hearn @maribelhearn42.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

I added a history section to the Touhou Popularity Poll English translation page, currently featuring old polls from 2017 to 2024. The older ones may be added later. You can navigate the old poll results using the arrow keys too!

My site was shown on Beatmario's stream where he announced the upcoming Touhou gameplay event. Honestly this is kind of crazy. I just left a comment on the YouTube video in question. I wonder how he explained the concept of LNN to the audience or what these numbers mean.

The screenshot feature in the Touhou Tier List Creator has been fixed for real now! No more excess height at the bottom of your tier list, even if it's large. Width adjusts automatically, unlike for example what tiermaker does. This is nice for smaller lists! maribelhearn.com/tiers

I added a checkbox that lets you include the two VS games in the LNN page stats (that is, Touhou 3 PoDD and Touhou 19 UDoALG), since it was kind of unclear that these aren't being counted by default. The reason for this is to maintain the "traditional" LNN count; VS games play very differently.

In case anyone got this error recently: "failed to move uploaded file" when trying to import a tier list into the Touhou Tier List Creator: This has now been fixed! :)

041

Maribel Hearn @maribelhearn42.bsky.social · 20/08/2025

Following the PND website, Touhou WRs set in Touhou 17 to 20 are now shown uncapped! That is, with the counterstop removed, revealing the "true" score value. This used to be shown only on mouse hover, but it will now be shown by default. For Touhou 20, the PIV bug is assumed to be fixed (thprac).

082

Maribel Hearn @maribelhearn42.bsky.social · 17/08/2025

My website now supports Touhou 20! It's featured on the WR/LNN pages, the survival table and the scoring page. And of course, the Tier List Creator! Speaking of which, the Tier List Creator now has tabs, to make it much more obvious that you can also sort the works, shottypes and cards! (1/2)

I did a (segmented) TD Lunatic No Miss clear with Marisa.. that trances every single lifepiece in the game! This run is a proof of concept to show that this is possible. A legitimate full game run of this would be insane. See my video for how it would be done! www.youtube.com/watch?v=53Cb...

Sorry if my site has been a bit less stable recently. I'm trying to solve a memory leak that I recently discovered. This has existed for a long time, but I recently isolated the problem to my site, meaning that it can't be anything else. It should be over soon!

Yesterday I also fixed two bugs on the Survival table page. maribelhearn.com/survival A fairly obscure one that would lead to duplicate data in your export, as well as one that that made it impossible to import a text file with "Not cleared" categories in it. Page should operate smoothly now.
