Irbid and Ramtha are home to one of #Jordan’s largest refugee populations, and where partnerships matter but also work. Insightful discussions yesterday with authorities, partners & refugees on protection, education, livelihoods, challenges & opportunities.

Music is a language we all understand, as is kindness. MIYAVI, UNHCR’s Goodwill Ambassador, visited Jordan last week, bringing joy to refugees and humanitarian staff alike, and thanking Jordan for its generosity towards those less lucky. @unhcr.org

The @ec.europa.eu including ECHO is the largest donor to the refugee response in Jordan in 2026. Its support is indispensable, therefore highly appreciated. Together with the EU ambassador of @euinjordan.bsky.social we visited Zaatari refugee camp to discuss with refugees their hopes and plans.

It is now 15 years since the Syria crisis began. And though the country is on the path to recovery, its consequences are still felt widely, with millions still displaced. I honor their strength and the patience of their hosts. Their resilience deserves continued support.

Grateful for the opportunity to present the complex realities facing refugees in Jordan to H.E. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, and the First Lady today. Germany’s support to Jordan and to the refugees it hosts is greatly appreciated.

Today I was in Irbid. I visited @YarmoukUni76, a partner in the Higher Education Alliance, and met with its President, and thanked the academic community in Jordan for the opportunities it has opened up to thousands of refugees. They are the future of their (and our) society.

It was an honor to accompany the High Commissioner, Barham Salih, during his first mission to Jordan since taking up his role; his visit early on in his tenure highlights the country’s leadership and longstanding commitment to protecting refugees.

@unhcr.org Jordan we were privileged to receive one of the first visits of the new High Commissioner for Refugees, Barham Salih. Together we visited Zaatari camp, met with partners, refugees and colleagues, and had some excellent falafel produced in the camp and sold in camp market.

In a street close to Rainbow street, in an older part of town in Amman, a traditional house hosts a showroom of the Jordan Handicrafts Artisans Association. Here, Jordanian and refugee artisans exhibit their work, available for purchase. Proceeds help support their families.

@unhcr.org in 🇯🇴 has made available a dashboard that shows, realtime, what skills refugees who return to Syria have, and where their areas of origin (and likely return) are. This allows prospective employers in Syria to plan their workforce as they help reconstruct their country. Link in the comments

Let’s face it. It’s getting uncertain for humanitarian staff everywhere. But while managers cannot promise certainty, they can promise transparency. A first step to transparency is a trusting relationship with staff representatives and peer advisers. #HumanitariansAtWork in Irbid

Countries that host many refugees, such as Jordan🇯🇴, bear hidden responsibilities no one ever talks about. E.g., 30 % of the babies and little boys and girls at the Al Hussein Social Foundation for Orphans in Amman, are refugees, yet in this loving home you wouldn’t be know. 🙏

Several refugee families left this morning for Syria. The High Commissioner happened to be in Amman and came to see them off. We waved goodbye, and as the buses left the station, we turned to leave ourselves. When we looked at each other, we realized that all of us had tears in our eyes.

@ec.europa.eu Hadja Lahbib visited Zaatari camp 🇯🇴 yesterday and spoke with refugees, women, men and children, about their hopes for the future. Some want to return to Syria, others not. In any event, the smiles are brighter. @unhcr.org
