My friend went on Medicare this year and has to pay over $600/month for Parts B & D and Medigap. And her Part D (through AARP/United Healthcare) is going from $105 to $175 next year (66% increase), despite that company making a $5.5 billion PROFIT last quarter.

My friend went on Medicare this year and got a prescription plan from United Healthcare for $105/month. She has now received notice that the cost is going up to $175/month next year and the deductible is going up from $615 to$700. (The premium increase is up 66%!)

I was recently looking for hay in the Hudson Valley, NY and a large horse farm said they get theirs from Canada. Than I was watching FarmAid on Saturday and the Virginia Gov said they get hay from Canada. You don't know what you don't know.

I started reading the NYT magazine's report on the same topic and couldn't finish it. 59 yo Cuban here since he was a teen sent to prison in Africa due to a long ago crime. Now employed, father of four etc. It's almost like we don't believe in redemption or that a person can change their life.

Here's an idea for teachers afraid their students will cheat on HW and essays. Try a flipped classroom - even if it's only one or two times a week. Video yourself giving a lecture that the students have to watch for HW and then do HW in class.

15 years ago my husband's pvt sector employer would have had him pay $900/mo as his contrib toward a family health ins package. Luckily he is a retired union construction worker and continued to receive health ins through the union, which for the past 2 yrs has cost us $400/mo (free before that).

Did Mamdani say that the only thing he's going to do to keep bicyclists safe is to model wearing a helmet??? Head injuries are a concern even if you don't get hit by a vehicle. Most skiiers wear helmets now after several high profile people died after skiing head injuries.
