some #poetry
NO
it’s always there,
whispers of a knowing glance
half-smiles smeared with lechery
nonconsensual touches, masked as comradery

“just smile”
“grin and bear it”
“lie back and enjoy it”

I am Jael incarnate, come for Sisera’s head
I am Medusa, sublimating flesh to stone with a tossed glance
I am helmed Victory, sword bloodied with Justice’s red song
I am Salome dancing with the severed head of John
I am Hecate, at the crossroads, and by my words, you shall choke on the moon

stitches a poem
every line rips a filament away
we’ve, so many of us, stitched together the pieces of ourselves with promises of justice;
sworn oaths to a system never built to shield us
and now, bearing witness to this uncovering,
our whole selves, old and new mended,
are torn freshly asunder.
by the same structure, the very weapons that first split us
left us to bleed out,
discarded
forgotten
ignored and silenced

nope the only tears you’ll wring from us are fruits of the gas. our outrage burns too hotly, Justice shines too fiercely, Liberty beckons constantly. you shall not pass, not a one of y’all

extra maybe I read too much too much camu, too much voltaire, too much cummings, and at too young an age as i am forever bound in solidarity with freedom, forever ensnared in the gorgeous flaming ribbons of our liberation

drive

thrumming deep in my core,
pulsing, every cell awake
faintly humming whispers
to go
to do
to be
to shine
to burn
flames so bright, so hot
not even ashes remain

screenshot of the poem greed: i have known days without food,
days where i ate thanks to the popcorn machine at work, thanks to a shift meal
but i’ve never known starvation

this is forced starvation, imposed starvation, sanctioned starvation
of children
you venally sick, detestable fucks

food thrown away
food left to rot, never delivered
in service to the greed of powerful men
aid blocked from arriving
in service to the hatred of powerful men

no matter the breadth of land you take,
the buildings branded with the tawdry foil of your name

your legacy will always and forever be
tortured, starving children you slowly, cruelly slaughtered

we will never forget

Some thoughts
Though you take my rights you shall never take my will

Though you take my speech you will never silence me

Though you take my freedoms you will never have my liberation

I am as wild as the wave, unfettered as the wind, sturdy as the earth, eternal as the flame

I shall burn brightly, fiercely, joyfully and unafraid
