August 2026 saw 251 arrivals — the same total as August 2025, with a different mix. Passenger rose to 68 and took the top spot from Container, down to 58. Add it up and the categories that grew gained 21 arrivals, while the ones that fell lost the same 21.

Through July, U.S. flag tanker arrivals to Puget Sound are 170 vs. 164 foreign flag (51/49) — vs. 169/118 last year. A Jones Act waiver in effect since March allowing foreign vessels on U.S. energy routes may be a factor.
