My Friend Flicka. Animals have souls, too.

I was much happier last night live streaming my grandson being a bat boy for a summer college league. Even tho it required social media.

That is not exactly what I heard watching ESPN. I hate that this evening matters to me.

Gotta tell you, this one got me. I went to church this morning and felt myself outside of it, just that really edged place, right outside the edge of the institutional church. Holding parts together. Big prayers here.

There be all of us, if we were trying to make sense of life and death in those conditions. No judgment.

I know nothing, but hope someone who does, chimes in. Listening.

Just refuse to listen to these rants anymore. Not helpful. Instead of venting about Platner, maybe chime in on his remaining competitors? Do you even know who they are? Or do you just want to rant.

As one who left DC last year, and my son got doged out. I try to tell that horrific story, in the best way I can, to people who might be able to hear. It's not about me. It's about all of them. You are right, Quinta, if you're not there, it's really hard to understand.

Literally some of us who go to bed at night, tossing and turning. Keep holding it up.

And this is what is so worrisome. But at the same time, I understand. And... still just show up. Please.

Thanks for responding. This is where I have rather landed. But I'm still open. Thanks for all you chime in on, respect your take on things.

I live in Platner's county. What do you think the message should be, if he loses.

He is stuck and glued to 1st grade-level understanding of biblical truths. But unlike him, many first graders grow up to a bigger understanding.

Good advice. Taking this in from my little perch. Thank you.

There will be no healing of this family tree. Except maybe, Mary pulling all the weight.

Keep sharing, Marisa. There is something about what happened at USIP that is a cornerstone of all of this insanity. Keep posting.

And now I've lost PBS. Really into deep grief here.

I'm telling you, there's alot happening on the ground. And it's galvinizing. I'm beginning to see it. I always thought I was the last to know anything, but there is something happening across this land. I'm here for it. I'm now getting out of bed with my aching back with a new kind of energy.

Please remember all the good people who worked there, dedicated their lives, to what this institute was about... while we're being rightfully outraged by all this.

Thank you for what you gave. It's kinda become my touchpoint of grief. Thank you, Steve Heydemann.

I have thought about this movie often the past year. "The Road". Book by Cormac McCarthy. Watch the movie and be prepared to be disturbed.

Last week I met a young man cashiering in the grocery check-out line. We had a brief conversation about my cilantro, and genetics (whether you love it or hate it). He then said, "Well, I'm just a white guy, so I miss out on alot." Resentment. I can't stop thinking about him.

I'm white as fuck also, and have not shown up in the way my nieces and nephews needed, but I'm glad they've got others to call Aunt and Uncle.

While I lament what's happening in our world, this is good and makes me believe in the abundance of good souls in our world.

Tonight, I crack my window open, like always. So I can hear the loons calling when I wake up at the usual 3am. It makes me believe in the beauty of our world, despite everything. And despite how cold it will be in here in the morning.
