I've been getting real tired of so many AI slop history/sword/military videos that are just... wrong. So I made a channel dedicated to debunking them.

Marcus Vance's Sword Knowledge Level surpasses Italian fencing master Fiore de Liberi. Fiore is recognized as one of the best sword masters on Earth Vance achieved this NATURALLY with his unorthodox nerd lifestyle

Their primary weapon is the "finger laser" linked to their armor's power supply, and it seems really good. Can be used for mining at low settings. Erases limbs. Easily 40k Hot-Shot lasgun level—but not too accurate at longer ranger. For that, they have grenade launchers.

Their armor is a space suit with internal exoskeleton, and, unfortunately, doesn't seem to offer notable protection. However, it does put them in the Spartan/Space Marine ballpark of lifting strength, so that's good.

The Forever War is a staple of military science fiction. It focuses on a soldier jumping forward in time due to FTL travel coming back to a new Earth after each battle. The weapons are blueprints for future scifi. But can their soldiers beat up a 40k Space Marine?

Law enforcement are instructed to focus on the green zones in order to keep batons "less lethal." Striking other areas can be seen as an escalation of force.

It's probably the fur, but this lamellar armor just looks way more intimidating than standard plate.

Norwegian peasant militia axes were weird. But the curved head was so you get the leverage of an axe, but a similar drawing/cutting motion you get with a curved sword. It's one of those designs that didn't really make it.

We gotta stop this "Warhammer 40k is more advanced because it's 40,000 years" Space Marines get stronger by getting injected with hormones and eating ceramics for a year so it fuses with their bones. Cyberpunk has a nanite injection that rebuilds muscle casually over 2 weeks.

Since I've been talking a lot about Cyberpunk VS Warhammer 40K, here is a 2020 bolter. .71 caliber (18mm (approx 18x50)) rocket propelled armor-piercing incendiary round. Has an onboard ballistics computer, and the projectile can be guided.

Read through planned projects from the Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Lab (DEVCOM ARL). Lots of "how can we use machine learning/AI for war" Lots of "how can we 3D print war stuff" Some "really sounds like they want super soldiers" Some eldritch horror summoning stuff

The holidays were incredibly tough for me in my early 20's. Everywhere was closed, all my friends spent time with family, and I was alone.
So i always try to put out videos on Thanksgiving and Christmas and all that. Just to give people who were in my shoes something.
You're not as alone as you think.

Joe Rogan has a samurai sword that's 500 years old he likes to show off to guests. Is that impressive? Sort of. The NTHK is a non-profit organization that preserves and certifies the authenticity of Japanese blades, and finding some made by reputable historic smiths isn't difficult. Anyone can buy.

We don't talk about how overpowered Cyberpunk can be. You can walk into a mall and walk out with skin that stops pistol rounds...

Just learned that Andrew Tate walks around his house with a sword because it makes him feel like a commander. And it's just a blunt stainless steel display sword.

I got my info from this. With gyrojets, they did flop. However, we tried making them before we landed on the moon. Before the Internet existed. I'm confident that we can do better with modern tech.

Warhammer 40k bolter. The green part, 6, is the explosive charge. By volume, this would equal about 13 grams of modern Composition B, which would have a lethal radius of half a meter. Under 2 feet.

What's kind funny is the US military has tested duplex ammo (firing two bullets per bullet) They've found that it just performs better out to 300 meters. And we've done nothing with this knowledge.
Duplex ammo is when a casing is loaded with two bullets.

Judging by Kahl's broken shoulder plates, all Grineer are just running around with about 1,000 pounds of unpowered armor on them like it's nothing. And Dax are supposed to no diff them. And Tenno no diff Dax.

Rich people used to make cool, impractical weapons to show off. And yet we have a billionaire who claims to be into sci-fi, but he's NOT investing what's pocket change to him into making gyrojets or caseless ammo or railguns work? Not making powered armor? Vibroblades?

Saw a podcast where people were just ragging on the Chinese sniper grenade launcher. Is it a bad idea? No. GLs have great armor penetration, airburst is good for enemies behind cover, and the US military wants their own.

That bell curve meme with people thinking dual wielding is cool because of anime on one side, and people liking it from historical sources on the other. The middle has someone claiming it doesn't exist.

The sharpened bit on the back of some single-edged swords is called the "false edge." The false edge helped with thrusting (two sharp sides go in easier than one sharp) and could be used to deliver a few unique cuts.

The Clacton Spear, dating back about 400,000 years, is one of the oldest known spears. Discovered in England, it exemplifies the use of wooden spears for hunting since a ridiculously long time ago. Obviously it COULD be just a stick. But assorted evidence points to spear.

New 3,000 year old swords discovered. Really wish we had more pictures. The right one looks like it's a curved blade. Which would make it an incredibly early example.

"We need guns to protect ourselves!" Sometimes I wonder what self-defense would look like if energy weapons like the Taser weren't hyper-focused towards cops.

Ironically, one of the biggest benefits of double-edged swords isn't most of the second edge. Double-edged blades thrust better. As they go through, both sides cut.

One-handed swords were, on average, about 2.5% of someone's body weight. Thor weighed about 400 here, so this ~10 pound greatsword being used one-handed is possible.

For the writers out there, this is what the inside of a kevlar vest looks like. Bunch of layers of fibrous sheets.

I saw this advertised for writers and have some corrections... Shotguns & Pistols do have a muzzle flash. Hot brass won't burn you through clothes unless you hold it there for a while. Instinctual aim is all the rage these days. You can hit targets without aiming down sights.

I really like how the Ghosts in StarCraft are, while not the best super soldiers, are well designed to take down other super soldiers.

People trained to shoot the center of mass because of big target and vital bits. Then, people started armoring the center of mass almost exclusively. And, as a counter to that, people train to... still shoot the most likely place to be armored?
