Very cool. Cool cool cool
POLITICO

"When did it become a fait accompli?"

Judge Patricia Millett asked. "If this were complete lawlessness by the government it couldn't be stopped?"

"On these theories, I think that's right," replied Yaakov Roth, a Justice Department attorney.

Millett, an Obama appointee, peppered Roth with questions about the extent of the Trump administration's view of its power to "move fast and break things" without being subject to legal challenge.

"If the government decides, very quickly, to bulldoze the Statue of Liberty - the people whose ancestors that was the first thing they saw coming to this country, but the government moved too fast can be done?" the judge asked. nothing

"I think that's right, yes," Roth responded.

So . . . I had not heard about this statement from Raskin. I can't really find words for how I feel about this

Take Donald Trump. If you or I search his name in the library of redacted files released to the public on the DOJ website, his name appears almost 5,000 times. But this week, when Rep. Jamie Raskin, the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, searched for the president's name in the unredacted files that only members of Congress can access, Trump's name appeared "more than a million times." So at least 99.5% of the references to Donald Trump in the DOJ Epstein files have been redacted.

@schakowsky.house.gov this is unacceptable. You can't tell your constituents that we have rights while you watch agents of the federal government trample on those rights. If you won't uphold your oath and actually do anything to protect our rights you need to resign your seat immediately
JAN SCHAKOWSKY Representing Illinois' 9th Congressional District

Dear

In these challenging times, it is so important that we continue to stand together as a community.

Across the country, immigration enforcement activity has increased, and I know many families are feeling uncertain. I want to be clear: you have rights, no matter your immigration status. Knowing your rights can help you, your family, and your loved ones feel more prepared and protected during uncertain times.

In Washington, I am continuing to advocate for policies rooted in dignity and fairness. This week, I voted against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill because it continues to fund detention, deportation, and further enables abuse and lawlessness. We must instead pass humane, comprehensive immigration solutions that keep families together and protect everyone's basic rights.

I also remain focused on lowering health care costs for families who are already stretched thin. I will continue to work with my Democratic colleagues to address the needs of families here at home instead of spending hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars on forever wars that the American people do not want. Our priorities should be clear: investing in affordable, high-quality health care and real solutions for families, not ego-driven agendas. I will keep fighting to make sure people can get the care they need and deserve.

Lastly, I want to thank you for your continued engagement and outreach to my office. Your voices shape my work every day and strengthen my advocacy in Washington.

As always, my office is here to help. If you need assistance with a federal agency, immigration-related questions, or any other concern, my team and I are ready to support you. You can reach my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 225-2111 or my Skokie office at (773) 506-7100.

I am proud to stand with you, and I will keep fighting every day for our community and for the future our families deserve.

With gratitude,

Sickening that @durbin.senate.gov continues to find ways to work with Republicans and join in the Trump regime's lawless warfare overseas and at home. Appalling that this is what he spends his time doing. He is gonna bipartisan us all straight into the camps.

I feel like this juxtaposition on my feed today is a good example of the widening gap between democrat politicians and their constituents

Yo @schakowsky.house.gov you gonna do anything about this? Anything at all? Just gonna let this slide while you wait for your retirement?

Check out the filing in which the DOJ argues that Trump doesn't need any statutory authority for deportations and can summarily deport anyone he deems a threat. Very clear where this leads.
