Garden Cross Spider, Araneus diadematus, back in the middle of it's web, with new (greenbottle) prey. Check out it's threat pose!

Spider in the middle of it's web, feasting on a wrapped up fly, and waving it's legs at me as a warning to keep away.

Confident wasp trying to pinch dinner, having chased off garden cross spider from web. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there...

Shaggy Ink Cap was the first mushroom that I learnt, so it's always a favourite.

I generally tolerate the flies in the kitchen, bit this takes the biscuit...

Tis the season... Garden cross spider, a little one. Chuffed to find how to set the focus on my phone cam, so no more blurry blobs with a perfectly focussed background! But I nearly walked into this one... While I appreciate spiders, I'm still traumatised from childhood web-in-face experiences.
