It departs from Deutsche Oper and takes you through the underground tunnels for around two hours, offering insights into the history, stations and infrastructure. The 153 km journey takes around 1 hr 37 mins, stopping at El Puerto de Santa María and Jerez de la Frontera. It’s a very busy route, and almost all trains are usually full. 050

These were the first high-speed trains to enter service in Spain and, after more than three decades, they continue to be impressively comfortable and reliable! 040

I stayed at Canfranc Estación, a Royal Hideaway Hotel, and it really deserves a special mention. It’s located in the beautifully restored railway station, which was inaugurated in 1928 and is a real piece of history! 030
