Your brothers need to learn that they can still allow specific numbers to contact them even if their phones are generally on silent. I have that set up for my kids. Wouldn’t help if they get a phone call from a random person, but would from you or your mum’s phone. (Just in case you didn’t know)

I get the feeling that writers do too much to accommodate the main actors (I’m not blaming the actors for this), just as they did with GoT, where they feel they have to keep X, Y or Z around to the end. Daemon should have died at the end of S3, but then the writers wouldn’t have Matt Smith for S4

I’m sorry, but I can’t. I don’t really mind the minor changes to drive the story, but some of the changes they’ve made in S3 will fundamentally change some of the most dramatic outcomes in F&B. We can’t get the climactic scene at Dragonstone, we probably won’t get the dragon duel at Harrenhal…

This was the first episode this season that I’ve been disappointed by. It’s got to the point where it feels like they are deliberately not following the book now. I don’t mind the odd deviation, but I’d like some of it to be broadly faithful to the written word.

Haha, I’m not criticising Stannis (I like him) but it’s fair to say he had not amassed a strong following of powerful Houses. I have always wondered why, given his vast strength in the navy, that he spent gold hiring Sellsails rather than Sellswords 🤷‍♂️

Ultimately House Velaryon goes from ones of the most powerful houses to at best a regionally powerful House. There has to be more to the story than the sacking of Driftmark - their power waxes again under Alyn - it’s one of the things I am looking forward to finding out more in B&F 3/?

Indeed, a Velaryon is 2nd in line to throne, Jace (regardless of legitimate questions about his parentage, he’s acknowledged as Laenor’s son). By the time of GoT, they are still a power - they have a few ships, they are Stannis’ biggest supporter, but that’s a low bar to beat. 2/?

I haven’t heard the podcasters you refer to, but from what you say I feel as though they have it right. At the start of the Dance they are the second most powerful House in all of Westeros - they have dragons, there is no ‘royal’ fleet because the Velaryon’s fleet is all they need. 1/?

I don’t think being intoxicated is an issue, and I agree Stokes must have known what the policy was (and probably have been involved in setting it). But I’m still not clear why it was in place after the match had finished and 10 (11?) days before their next match? Or why that would be necessary?

Perfect summary of what’s going on. I don’t understand why a curfew would even apply after the match has finished. I could just about get on board with it during the match (although I think it should be unnecessary for grown adults), but once the game has been won surely it’s time to celebrate?
